Did a pitch invader injure Morata? Oh no.

Edit: i think that fan did it on purpose.

Was a security guard that slipped (one of the guys in black trouser and white t shirts).

He ran on and slipped into Morata bc there was a pitch invader who seemed to be celebrating with the Spain players.

Took out his standing leg, so should have been a red card ;)

Hopefully Morata ok but he was in some discomfort …

Lautaro on the bench. I think that's a mistake.

    Maybe, but unlikely I think.

IMO, will come down to Canada staying solid at the back and David really having a great game.

    Meh, maybe.

He had a base to work with though. This is hardly some Marsch miracle.

we've known it for a while now but it's crazy that Yamal is just 16.

we have something similar with Mainoo but damn it looks like Barcelona have produced a real gem there.

all of a sudden Ansu Fati is a distant thought. hopefully Yamal fares better than he did

Too easy. That number 15 for Canada has to do better.

Bro, the difference between the play of Canada and the USA is stark. They look well coached and disciplined. It’s like berhalter just tells them to “go out and play with passion but not too much” every game.

Sure, but my point is this base was in place 2-3 years ago, pre Marsch, during our WQ qualifying under Herd.

It also helps a lot having Davies, David and Kone, plus our CB pairing.

Mainoo is good but comparing him to yamal is a reach

that kid is a potential super star, injuries permitting

David looked off. The Canadian CBs depend far too much on their athleticism. Their positional play, not good. Argentina have coasted their way to this final.

Ironic how Messi scored a "hockey" goal.

They will have a better grass system in place for 2026 at all the US Stadiums.
My biggest problem with playing the WC in NFL stadiums is that they are all too narrow.

I watched all of Canada's matches in Copa America and David has been quite poor.

the comparison was simply two big talents that play at a level well beyond their years

Perhaps, but Olmo topscorer rn and could be tourny MVP (Yamal and Rodri in that convo too).

Whats up with these CFs? France had 1 goal from open play, Lautaro on the bench yesterday despite doing well (def better than Alvarez), David poor, Kane poor, Cristiano poor, Scammaca dreadful, Darwin doing OK, Weghorst getting minutes, Spain stuck with Morata... Gakpo is the only one impressing. It almost feels like if a country had a CF on hotstreak, they might win these tourneys. This is when a Baros or Schillaci can come handy. They don't all need to be van Basten and Platini.

Which is why I thought it was a shit game overall. France going out with a whimper, creating nothing.

Spain, easily building out of the back and moving forward. After the goals, this wasnt even a contest.

So just Guehi back for Konsa.

Press calling it 3-4-3 but with Trppier effectively still a LB rather than a LWB and with Saka effectively still RW not RWB it will remain lopsided/ asymmetric as hell :)

Means a dead left-wing again for England, Saka the only decent attacker and lots of work for Walker having to handle Gakpo on his own …
