    Today's the day.

The ref today is Ali 'Baba' Saheli. The linesmen are Rob 'King' Fereday and George 'Viagra' Vergara. The man who'll surely be hearing it all afternoon is Noel Kenny, the fourth official.

To Clint Mathis: Well, you already know what I think about you...

    Chatter away boys and girls!

The 6 PM local forecast says "33°F Feels Like 28°F"

Don't forget to dress warm... I was out looking at the lunar eclipse last night and froze my FruitoftheLoom contents in a matter of minutes.

Wonder what Wolyniec will be wearing. Hey, if Jay Heaps plays maybe we'll find out...

When I lived in upstate NY, we used to call days like this FYDO, which stands for Freeze Your (Dork) Off.

Tony: Make sure to ask the following to Wolyniec after the game: Hey John, why the long face? :)

If someone could do play by play, I'd be thrilled.

I just got out of these freaking insanely long mock trial thing. "Ohhh, John, you'll be out by 3, I promise." ARGH!

    I don't have Comcast either.

    Huh
From MLSnet it appears no Lisi. Magee and Woly at forward. Looks like Jolley Leitch and Pope in three man back line. Five mid - Gaven - Mathis - Guevara - Williams - Clark.

I found a radio station broadcasting it here in Worcester. Might be WVEI.

All VEI is is the Western Mass. sister station of WEEI, which used to have online listening, but they took it down last year iirc.

So to answer succinctly, I don't think so.

    Penalty kick.

Magee tripped up in the box. Announcers say it's a terrible call.

    Goal in stoppage time.

    Eek.

Good gawd, what a goal by Noonan.

Cancela controlled a service with such deft touches and plays a pass to Fabbro at the top of the 18 - who then dummies as well as I've ever seen any dummy dummied before... and Noonan continues his run behind Fabbro - and SCORCHES the ball into the far corner.

Just an incredible goal that showed amazing chemistry (even the MSG announcers mentioned the profound chemistry the Revs have shown of late). Fantastic effort by Jason Moore too. He fit in very well with a well-playing side. Momentum can bring out the best in so many players. Marshall Leonard had the game of his life. Wow.

Tremendous victory for the Revs. Happy, happy camper.

I can't believe what those pricks in the Metro board were saying... Go check it out for yourself. Michael K. should receive a card for what he said...

Just got back from the game. Yeah, to all those from the Fort, I was the misguided one who started saying "Bring On Chicago" in the 84th minute. Sorry.

    Damn it was cold.

Downtown Adin Brown. Wubba wubba wubba unh!

    That ref sucked. Big-time.

Oh I want to be in that number,
When the Revs to to L-A!

I don't know...but I have a bad feeling about Revs @ Chicago. Do you think the Revs can beat them?

I wished the conference final was home-and-home aggregate series just like the conference semi-final.

I was right near the fort today... If you had looked over in 201,l I was all bundled up wearing a yellow ski jacket. I have a feeling I was sitting in front of Chris Bagley's family. Or a bunch of drunks with a thing for Bagley. I heard "UNCLE CHRIS!!!" "Give the ball to bagley!" "Your lucky goalie!"(when Bagley missed the ball...) It was quite good to see the fort doing what you do... When i get a little older, and possess a car(im 14 w/o a job) Im becoming a Rider.

    GO REVS!

I just got back from the game and it was a wonderful, wonderful time for all present. The Fort was great and the players really showed what they had both during and after the game.

As for the goal, simply put I have seen a lot of great goals, starting in 1980, at all manner of world class venues. I have never, ever seen any more skillful interplay and individual effort as on the complete classic by Cancela, Fabbro and Noonan. You can put it up against anything, even Diego's six player shimmy in the Azteca in 1986. It was as good as soccer gets. Just simply wonderful.

    In no particular order...

    - I really appreciated the fact that the grounds crew had made the effort to have the field looking like a soccer field.

    - I have never heard a crowd so angry as after the PK. It looked bad on the tape, but looked much worse live. Magee looked like he had been shot. Saheli was #### for the Metros as well. Heaps took a shocking chance in the second half, almost as if he knew Saheli would never call another PK, and actually drew a foul.

    - Jim is right; the Cancela -> Noonan goal (with the Fabbro dummy) was beautiful. There was another gorgeous combo that we didn't convert, but which still drew a standing O in my area. Stuff like that is why I go to the games.

    - The D was outstanding in the first half when Metro (I thought) was playing more creatively. In the second half, things started to deteriorate. Everyone on both teams looked tired and cold. Everyone except Bagley, who seemed to be having a blast.

    - Is Franchino all right? Kamler?

    - Did I mention that it was cold? Argyle was right not to bring his toddlers.

I was all bundled up in my ski gear but forgot about my feet, which went numb during second half. During half time there were guys hanging out in the men's room because it had heat. I don't know how Llamosa managed to play with short-sleeved shirt, although he was pretty fired up.

The Rev players were indicating to the bench that the Metro scums were elbowing left and right, in defense and in offense, but they kept their cool.
In the first half, Jason Moore was impressive in his burst of speed and power, so he can be forgiven for bungling the wide open chance. Sharlie is the human vacuum cleaner. He not only scoops it up, but also distributes with good vision and accuracy. I believe he is still getting better at what he does.

Given how cold it was and how bad the pitch was. it was neverthless a very impressive display of skill and teamwork by the Revolution.
