This is why it's pointless to even try to engage Kornholio about soccer. Every single time I've seen him be asked a question about DC United, or even soccer in general -- *every single flippin' time* -- he turns the question into an opportunity to say "they should have played Adu more if the league was going to hype him so much." Even if for some reason one thinks that's true, it's ridiculous that that's the only thing he ever says. And the reason it's the only thing he ever says, of course, is because it's the only thing he knows *to* say. And it's particularly stupid given that Tony wouldn't have been watching regardless of how much Adu played. He's not interested, he doesn't care, he's never going to care. Hell with him.
It's the only thing he knows because his daughter, who has the hots for him, keeps whining at the breakfast/lunch/dinner table that Freddie is not getting enough... ...playing time. I believe he met her at the Maryland frat party. Is Freddie a playa or what?
It would be funny as hell if Kornheiser caught Freddy leaving his daughter's room and Freddy said to him, "I just went the full 90 minutes, thanks for the vote of confidence."
I'm quite sure that in the long list of people who beat the crap out of Kornhole and stole his lunch money in high school, there's a soccer player. Hell, probably the whole team.
Ok, Before everybody gets their panties in a bunch about PTI, tihs is an entertainemnet show. They have segments on Joe Millionaire and other useless crap. Plus, this is the same show that occassionally has Norman Chad who thinks that poker is more of a sport than soccer. What we need is a good butt kicking of the Wiz so we can have a championship parade in DC. I am from Philly, so this may be my only hope of any sort of championship in my lifetime.
Yes - Sadly PTI (as much as I love it most of the time) is a sports entertainment show - Like Professional Wrestling is sports entertainment - Not the real thing - You just gotta go with the flow Kornie and Mikey are of the same "ilk" - They only know few big money sports really well - Football - Some baseball - College basketball - Not Pro basketball (not nearly as much as they think) - Tony loves live hockey - But everything else (Tennis, Swimming, Track, Soccer, Golf, etc) they only know what they read as copy from other writers - And they hype other phoney entertainment shows (AI, Survivor, etc) and stars as much as real sports - So its not real surprising to hear this drivel about soccer on PTI Is any publicity "good publicity" ?? - Possibly - But too much of this means it will continue to be "bad publicity" for the casual sports observer - They really needed to show the goals from Sat night - But being only on the East Masters Coast game, its not important enough - Hope the game on Sunday has some spectacular goals that will get 2.5 seconds on PTI
