    So do we start Zola

or rest him for Saturday? We would be taking a big chance in starting Cole (not 100% fit) and Oliviera (never started) in a cup match. But I think we'd be taking an even bigger chance by starting Franco tonight and then relying on him to come back and play 90 minutes on Saturday, especially if Jimmy and Eidur aren't going to be ready for Birmingham. Tough call for CR...

Is it me or did Gudjohnsen put on a ton of weight during the offseason?

Looked at least a good stone or more overweight when he took off his warm up sweater didn't he?

That's the gossip making the rounds

That CR thinks EG is overweight and out of shape and that is the reason he hasn't had a real run in the side. It could be the result of his injury or he could just be sulking at not being first choice and is taking his sweet time getting back into shape to show his displeasure ( a la Bosnich). Shame because we really need him tonight and this weekend with Jimmy not at 100%.

    Well then....

Top notch side out there tonight.

A new trend perhaps, what with manure fielding a decent side last night?

Good cup runs = more revenue, even if it is the Worthy cup.

    A sign of the times.

    Urg.....

    Andu d'Urso huh?

    Not good news for GLS.

I think he's the ref that has sent him off the last two times he got red carded.

    Toffees

Go one up at Sids park.

Possibly the hottest team in the premiership right now.

It's hard to suppress the excitement

over Cole. He appears to be the real deal though and could be the best homegrown striker we have had in a long time. Doesn't seem to be showing any effects of a broken leg does he?

Re: It's hard to suppress the excitement

You would think that the likes of both haselbaink and Gudjohnsen would be a little bit concerned with his progress to date.
In so much that they would at least exibit a more "get stuck in and involved" attitude.

They have top realise that (especially hasselbaink) that Cole and Forssell will be kept for the future, especially in this day an age of diminishing revenue from the big television companys.
Cole and Forssell together probably don't make per week what Hasselbaink alone does.

Hasselbainks continued mopeing and dreary attitude is doing nobody any good, especially himself.P1ssing and moaning in the press all week--who are only too willing to print a negative Chelsea story--about Ranieri not "sticking by him" in his barren spell.

I still say he harbours ill will toward all and sundry at CFC over not being able to go to Barcalona in the off season.

One can begin to see how the Leeds lot have a bad taste in their mouths when they mention Hasselbainks name.
Gudjohnsen needs to sort it out as well as the reported rumours of his weight problem seem to be true.
Forssell and Cole leading the attack in the new year may not be such a stretch of the imagination.

For the money they're making they should be 100% up for it each and every day.

    (rant over)

    1-0 at the Half

One goal leads can be so precarious though no matter how much you are dominating the game.

Would like to see a quick second at the start of the second half.

Fantastic goal as Cole lights up Stamford bridge

    What a fukin goal.
Length of the pitch in 20 seconds.
De Lucas takes it out, down the center--Passes to Morris, down the right, round a couple of tackels to the end line--pin point cross to meet an inrushing Cole who powers a thunderous header into the corner of the net.

    Chelsea 2-0 Gills

Cole looking...or at least sounding...the real deal.

    OOOOOoooohhhhhhh

Almost a hat-trick as Cole heads just over the bar.

He's definitely a throw back to the old traditional full forward, the one who would knock over a bull to get a header in......

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha ha...fukin spurs losing 2-1 at Burnley....he he he he he

    GLS off Oliveira on
    Cole off and gronks on.

    Keeping Cole for Saturday perhaps?
Very surprised Zola is still on.

    Howls of derision

Bogardes first touch sees him hoof it up the left wing---and promptly fall on his arse as his planted foot slips.

    Can't feckin believe it

    Bogarde???

Why was Huth or Kitamirike not given a place on the bench and 20 minutes of time instead? I don't care if Bogarde scores a hat trick in the last 20, he is not our future and will be released as soon as his contract is up so why play him? Maybe CR has a hidden sense of humour and just wanted to hear him get booed, who knows.

    Arse 2-3 now, good news.

    Gills pressure

How coincidental is it that Gillingham are having their best period of pressure-and down the left side too-as soon as Bogarde came on?

Loud and continous booing whenever he touches the ball.

Don't care to have him in the squad-but thats a bit too much.

    Jesus, booing?

    how will that help any?

People just don’t seem to get it.

Having said that i would have much preferred a youngster getting some time rather then Bogarde.

COLE! Trying to keep my hopes down, but he has so much potential, tall strong, thunderous shot, and already probably our fastest striker.

    Guddy the fat man.

This is worrying, he is a special talent and to see him like this makes me wonder if all things are not right with Guddy's attitude or contentment, would be gutted to see him go.

    Consolation goal

    For the gills.
Deflected free kick spilled by Carlo right to a gills player who calmly puts it into an empty net.

    Wow

Arse out, Leeds out, Tottenham out, Borough out, Newcastle currently being held by Everton.

How good a coach is that Moyes bloke? Although I am of the official opinion that it won’t last

Oh shyte? Am i allowed to say that or should i take it away?
