That Hoya article by Erin Brown is COMPLETELY off. Lebron is all HYPE & the 4-11 record of the Cavs shows it. Nike is no doubt gonna be kicking themselves for giving him $90 million b4 ever playing a game when the Cavs fail to make the NBA playoffs for the next 5 years. Adu chose to play in the MLS to help promote the sport in the US. Hes about the SPORT not the money. He could have easily made 10X what he got in MLS by going to Europe. that in itself shows more maturity & class than Lebron could ever WISH to have.

AS much as I hate to say it, Lebron is not all hype...he has put up real solid numbers, has sold a ton of jerseys already and is filling the stands more in Cleveland....That is what they were expecting....they didn't think he was going to turn the team around in the first couple of years...MJ couldn't even do that his first few years.....

Lebron gets 10X more hype than Carmelo Anthony, yet Carmelo is OUTSCORING lebron most nights. The reason the Cavs attendance is up & Lebron jerseys have been sold is cuz of THE MEDIA HYPE. Its NOT cuz the cavs are winning, or because Lebron is making a huge impact in the NBA.

From Erin Brown's article in The Hoya:

"Freddy: Well, just last year I led the U-14 Potomac Cougars team to the National Championships. Hey man, when I was only 12 — yeah, 12 — Interpol in Italy offered me $750,000."

Interpol offered him $750K? Was this reward money for single-handedly breaking up an international drug ring?

And before anyone flames me, yeah, I know it should have said Inter Milan.

"Freddy: Well, ah, um, freddyadu.com is in the works … And I signed a four-year deal with a two-year option for *cough* $280,000. Come on — my deal with Nike is worth over $1 million — the company’s highest endorsement for an individual soccer player."

Anyone noticed how the author is already promoting a site started by one of the BS posters?
Who was the one? wolves67? ha,wonder how much you paid for this....

I didn't say the Cavs attendance was up because they were winning...it is because everyone wants to see Lebron though.....hype or not....its whats happening....And I don't know how Freddy is a better person because he got paid less money....christ, I'm sure there are people sitting around wondering why Nike gave a 14 year old a million.

What the hell was your point again??? Oh yeah, it doesn't matter....

Bit from the article (towards the bottom) suggests that Yallop may not necessarily take the Canada job, if the challenges and the satisfaction of winning two MLS titles in three years with the Quakes are anything to compare things by...

The post has been vacant since German Holger Osieck's surprise resignation three months ago. Assistant Colin Miller has served as coach in the interim.

Worldwide interest has been huge (more than 50 applications) and the CSA would like to have its man in place by the middle of next month.

"Obviously, coaching your country, if I were to get that opportunity, would be very important to me," said Yallop, happy about the idea of returning to family and friends in Vancouver.

"The important thing is, am I going to be happy in that job?"
