The players called for this match:

Portieri: Abbiati, Dida; Difensori: Cafu, Coloccini, Costacurta, Maldini, Nesta, Pancaro; Centrocampisti: Ambrosini, Brocchi, Dhorasoo, Gattuso, Kakà, Pirlo, Rui Costa, Seedorf, Serginho; Attaccanti: Crespo.

No Shevchenko or JDT. See if Crespo can continue his run of good form. ;)

A point is all that's needed to clinch a berth in the next round, but Milan needs to win to keep up the pressure on Barca. If I'm not mistaken, Milan would win the tiebreaker for first place if things remain tied, since they got an away goal in their head-to-head matchups.

Good luck from a Juventino. I am hoping we can both reach the final again (yes I know it is very early days to say so) but with a different result this time

    Milan 4 Shakhtar 0

Two second-half goals apiece from Kaka' and Crespo. Could it be Hernan is really coming around?

    Milan's lineup in this game:

Dida, Cafu, Maldini, Nesta, Costacurta, Gattuso (84'-Brocchi), Pirlo (71'-Ambrosini), Seedorf, Rui Costa (79'-Dhorasoo), Kaka, Crespo.

Milan only needs a point in Glasgow to clinch the group.

OUCH! Looks like Milan woke up at the expense of Shakhtar.....we all knew that they have the talent and that it was merely a matter of time, before they got all cylinders firing at the proper time. Congrats Milan.

This is a very good win.

The team seems able to chug along well, even without Sheva. Very good that Crespo is starting up again. This was a promising victory. :)

Personally I'm glad Kaka got back on the scorsheet.

Two players that really needed to get going did it today. Crespo and Kaka' each with a brace. Hopefully we see the Milan we knew from last year for the rest of this season.

I think Kaka' and Rui should play together in the midfield more. I don't think they are that similar. Rui is a really good assist man who makes good passes. Kaka' makes more long runs and takes more shots. Personally I think the midfield is best with both of them in it.

I only saw the highlights, but Kaka looked fantastic-- very lively and sharp. Hopefully he'll be able (finally!) to bring that form back to the Serie A with him this weekend. Getting him and Crespo going might give the team the push it needs to start moving up the table.

Lets hope Inter wins this weekend, as much as that pains me to say.

Kaká played a horrible match - he missed almost every pass he tried in first half! - until scored his first goal. Then Lucesco helped him when took Batista off. From that moment on Kaká had all space to play freely.
We'll have to wait a bit more to see him playing his best football, but the goals will boost his confidence.
So far, with just Sheva, Dida and Cafu playing their best football, Milan advanced to next CL stage, probably ending on top in group F, and are only six points behind Juve in Serie A.
We'll have more fun next May, unless something unexpected happens until there.

i do agree kaka wasn`t at his brilliant best even if he really played much better than the previous outings this season, but wtahcing the chievo match i think him and the former azzuri shot stopper chievo`s Marchegiani can compete for the man of the match, kaka was superb with defence splitting passes and set ups while marchegiani- wow, brilliant, absolute brilliant , kept them in the game for most periods of the match, he saved seedorf`s point black effort which should have made it 2-0, crespo played well just like dida who also saved us oh plus rui costa did well.

good win especially playing away against a tough side that were well organized and discplined at the back. next up we take on struggling and out of sorts parma away at the Ennio Tardini. should be three points in the bag. let me wait for the inter-juve clash.
