Tough game coming up in the league on the weekend, one in wich we'll be expected to get all three points from.
Charlton are tough at home, not too mention that they've been a somewhat bogey team for us of late.

I wonder how many of the 'regulars' will be rested for this one as we've already won the group?

Didn't Mourinho already say that Terry will be out of this game?

Hmm. *Someone* in the US must be showing this, since all the pubs and such are.

BTW, if you live in the DC area, your best bet to watch this game will be Summers Restaurant in Alexandria, VA, 9pm replay for those of us who will be at work in the afternoon. :)

Hey, when you get there, look out for some big redneck, about 340lbs, huge beer gut and receding hair line.
Think he has a bit of a gimp as well.

He posts on here as MST and goes there for every game he can.

Since Chelsea have won the group they will probably be resting some regulars so I was wondering if PSG will be able to clinch a draw. I dont think PSG will score regardless of who's playing for Chelsea because PSG's attack is very weak and its a road game for them. I'm hoping Chelsea wont be trying too hard to score and the game can end up 0-0. If that happens then PSG can beat CSKA Moscow at home and go through to the next round.

What you say about PSG may come about - however, if you think for a second that whomever is on the pitch for Chels isn't going to bust a gut you're very much mistaken.

If (big if) Mourinho plays Parker instead of Makelele or Johnson instead of Ferriera or Smertin instead of Tiago, or indeed even Geremi, they;ll all be going out with the attitude "this is my time to impress the boss".

If Kezman gets the start - i fully expect he will - he'll move heaven and earth to score a goal!

I truly hope Kezza gets the start AND the goal. Heh, it's funny, I haven't rooted for someone this hard since we got Duffer. :D

I think he's more likely to pick up a lot of yellows than to get a goal, sadly. He's a bit too enthusiastic about his tackling lately. Which wouldn't be a problem if he had the slightest idea of how to go about successfully making one.

You do know what they say about people in glass houses, right? ;)

Dunno if I'll be able to make this Wednesday with the holiday and all. I'm usually there for as many as I can get to though - the places downtown just aren't as reliable.

Forwards coming back to make a tackle is always a thing of beauty ;)

That being said, he has talent - 'bout time we seen it!

I wouldn't quite say that, I have found a VERY reliable soul in the owner of Lucky Bar, on Connecticut Avenue. Hell, he even set up TVs for us sorry Chelsea lot to watch the Bolton replay, in the midst of a bar teeming with Real Madrid/Barca supporters. (prolly not the best idea, however, as the tension was very palpable).

He tapes all the Chelsea matches, and is an all around great guy, even if he's from Wales. :D ;)

To Clan Blue: I believe Smertin has already shown his value to Mourinho, he was out from injury, and before that he was doing very well. I think in Mourinho's mind Smertin is a starter before Tiago is.

As for the game I believe Chelsea will pull through 2-0.

I think the Tiago/Smertin spot is still up for grabs to be honest and it is the only spot in the 3 man middle that is really. Lampard is out on his own. Makalele has the edge over Parker. Tiago has scored a few recently (missed a few as well) so I think that he has the slight edge at the moment. Smertin is perhaps the more solid player, but he picks up cards unnecessarily at times.

This game I hope to see Parker, Kezman, etc. Good opportunity for those lads. They have a lot to prove, so it won't be easy for PSG. 3-1 anyone?

Carlo Cudicini, Glen Johnson, Scott Parker, Kezman and Drogba, y'know I like our "second" team :D

Yeah not too shabby. I'd like to see Duff and Robben each get a break tonight too. Maybe rest one completely and have the other only play 60 min. Seems like a good night for Joe Cole to try to make an impact.

    Sat's Charlton match

Since many of us won't be checking in after tomorrow, it looks like it is still up in the air whether Saturday's match with Charlton will be televised in the US.

On FSW's detailed schedule they have us as the 3 PM ET delayed match:

    http://www2.foxsports.com/world/pdf/fsw48.pdf

But on their main soccer TV page they have that match as TBD:

    Stay tuned for more updates.

Well, yes, but, ya see...my point wasn't about each players worth over anothers, it was really a generalisation.

In short, i don't think it matters a jot who he picks.

    *shakes fist at the world*

Why oh WHY did they pull the game off their lineup? And now, the injustice of having to wait until 5 pm Saturday. Ah well, I'll catch the torrent tomorrow night. ;)
