AMERICAN: Charlotte (33) is above the cut line today, but a loss in the semis would put them on the bubble. Charlotte's best metrics are a non-conference RPI of 11, a 4-2-4 record vs. the top 100 and no Quad 4 losses. This should be a one-bid conference, but if Charlotte gets chosen as an at-large this would be a stolen bid and bust someone else's bubble. ACC: My metric calcs don't like California (28), but they are far enough above the cut line to be safe even with a loss. Notre Dame (47) doesn't seem reachable. Virginia Tech (42) ranks 49th in my metric calculation. I think the Selection Committee is going to be fine with 10 ACC selections, including Cal, and leave UND and VT out. BIG EAST: Georgetown (11) and Providence (17) are locks for the NCAA Tournament. Akron (31) is probably as well...even a loss will keep them around the same RPI. The Zips did not have a great non-conference season, so I think they need to win the Big East Tournament in order to earn a 1st-round bye. St. John's needs to win the Big East tourney to grab a bid.
#1 seeds Oakland and Iona have clinched title game appearances in their respective conferences. #3 LIU upsets #2 Saint Francis to make the Northeast final.
I forgot. Cal cannot lose as that would put them under .500 vs. Division I teams. They must win or send it to penalty kicks.
#2 Rider beats Siena and will visit #1 Iona for the MAAC Championship. #1 FDU came from two goals down to beat #4 Le Moyne 3-2, giving the Knights the opportunity to host #3 LIU for the Northeast title.
Providence beat St. John's to advance to the Big East final. Georgetown and Akron are tied 1-1 in the 80th minute in the other semifinal. Wake Forest wiped out Virginia 5-1 to make the ACC title match. Clemson is leading Cal 2-1 in the 58th minute in the other semifinal. FIU has a 2-1 lead in the 78th minute at Memphis in the AAC semis.
California has pulled even with Clemson. The Bears once trailed 2-0. Cal must win or draw to stay eligible for an NCAA Tournament invitation.
#5 FIU defeats #1 seed Memphis 3-1 to advance to the AAC final vs. Charlotte. Georgetown and Akron have ended regulation in a 1-1 tie. Clemson has re-taken the lead over Cal in the second ACC semifinal.
Georgetown scores a golden goal in the 99th minute. The Hoyas play Providence in the Big East championship game. Clemson hung on to eliminate Cal and set up an ACC final with Wake Forest. Cal finishes with a losing record vs. Division I and is, thus, ineligible for the NCAA Tournament.

https://rpiupdatemenssoccer.blogspot.com/search/label/Tournament Projection RPI cut line is 40/41. 33 UCLA 34 Akron 35 UNCG 37 Saint Louis (can still win A10) 38 Kansas City (can still win Summit) 40 George Mason 41 Virginia Tech 42 Monmouth 43 New Hampshire 44 Princeton (can still win Ivy) 45 Drake 46 Wisconsin It should be noted that UC Santa Barbara has an RPI of 36 and is playing UC Davis in the Big West final, and High Point is at 39 and is playing Gardner-Webb in the Big South final. If either (or both) fail to win their respective conference's auto bid, that could alter the cut line. It looks a little different using my made-up metric. 34 High Point (39) 35 Monmouth (42) 36 Akron (34) 37 Kansas City (38) 38 Northwestern (47) 39 Saint Louis (37) 40 Wisconsin (46) 41 Princeton (44) 42 George Mason (40) 43 Fordham (31) 44 Creighton (51) 45 New Hampshire (43) UCLA and UNCG, last 6 with RPI only, are safely in using this metric. Monmouth and Northwestern elevate into the field. A10 teams George Mason and Fordham fall out of the field. Wild cards UCSB and High Point perform above their RPI in this metric...again, either or both failing to win auto bid(s) could affect the final selection.
