Not even close... maybe an inch or two... the size difference was very slight. Although if you want to measure something else I am sure Santos has Seattle beat
Maybe not, but remember Seattle will have a couple games under their belt when these two meet up next time. This was their first competitive match in 4 months.
Actually that is Seattle's next match. Santos has to play a league fixture on Sunday though so they will have to juggle the roster some.
There were some pretty rough challenges on the Santos players and other refs give that (handball) penalty to Santos at the end. Don't think you can complain about the ref last night.
Fixed. I thought the ref did a decent job. He called fouls both ways evenly and didn't call fouls on obvious dives.
Yeah but if that uncalled PK would have been in Seattle's favor I guarantee there would have been a Big Sawker outrage including threats involving special forces & foreign leader kidnappings
Didn't mean to complain about the ref because he didn't do a bad job; just the way the teams from two different leagues match up- they play different, but no... can't complain; there were dives not awarded and some wrestling matches where he just let the game go on.
The Santos fan base seemed a bit disinterested during the group stage. Can we expect a larger crowd for the return leg at Estadio Corona?
looks like Santos didn´t rest any starters over the weekend. except for Aaron Galindo, but I don´t remember him playing in Seattle? Why didn´t Felipe Baloy play the 1st leg?
What a civil thread. I watched the whole game - it was great! Turf is an embarrassment to the MLS. It's like buying a vintage Aston Martin and then putting square plastic tires on it. Idiotic that it is ever an option due to poor planning. Better than nothing but it just sucks. Does anyone know how full strength Santos was?
Basically all the starters except the injured Quintero, Galindo and Felipe Baloy. whats up with Baloy not playing the 1st leg?
I thought this was an entertaining song house of the rising sounders http://pain-machine.blogspot.com/2012/03/house-of-rising-sounders.html
What a Civil Thread, now let me bring up something that could turn the thread uncivil very quickly! But seriously, turf is fine. It isn't grass, but grass would be awful with all the traffic Century Link gets.
Seattle is a beautiful city in a beautiful geographic location... but you Opie Taylor mothair fkers are way too fking polite... makes me want to kick some of you Grunge Emos in the head just to see if you will finally get mad. Of course compared to Vancouver B.C. you guys are bad azzes Bring it!
Another thing to consider. The winner here gets to host the second leg in the semis and potentially the final.
Santos working hard to get people into the stands. LOL!.... Baratisimo (Very Cheap!).... reduced ticket prices + free admission to season ticket holders / members. Beer only $1.50.
