According to BBC, it looks like CB, which is where he played last time.

Not really. He fouled a guy...he took a free kick from his own half...that's about it.

Nowhere near the throw-in king that Karbassiyoon is, I guess.

    CAP HIM NOW!

oh sorry... I was a bit too quick there...
Maybe we should wait until he takes a free kick in the attacking half first...

    Just glad he's playing.

Anyone else notice that with the proper results today...
we could have the following defenders in the quarterfinals of the Carling Cup...
    Simek, Spector, Karbassiyoon, Bocanegra, Demerit

Sorry just something that popped into my mind

CenturyFM report that Biscan is standing out for Liverpool and that Dudek was beaten late in the half only to have the flag go up.

Late goal by Liverpool has them up 1-0 nearing FT.

Whitbred played the whole 90 at center back. Both offenses were crap for most of the game (the Liverpool kids lack the flair of their Arsenal counterparts). Didn't see Whibred challenged much, he showed good touch and decent passing.

Didn't actually see the game but, if he played in a back four that kept a clean sheet against Viduka, Zenden, Job and young Downing that's pretty impressive by any standards.

    from the Liverpool official site...
Whitbread's lone fault when I watched the CW games was that he was a bit slow. He played on the outside in those games IIRC. He seems to do well when playing in central defense though.

Fan vote for MOTM from 'Pool site.

I see nothing wrong with stuffing the ballot for Zak as I don't think anyone who voted (other than folks who went to the match) was actually able to see the match anyway.

Here's the link if anyone feels like it. ;)
