I don’t need to manipulate the data I just present them as they are. In reality if I wanted to I could’ve made a better argument than you have that Ronaldinho was not a big game player (in the way us modern fans view big game players). He did not score in a World Cup final Copa America final Champions league final Copa libertadores final Despite the fact he played finals in all of those competitions Now that is a real talking point but instead of exploring and emphasising on that talking point you are resorting to mentioning relatively insignificant statistics like assisting goals in domestic cup finals because you are so blinded by your hatred for Ronaldinho Yamal is not a better performer then Ronaldinho in big games because he provided 2 assists in a Copa del Rey final Which is exactly the case you attempted to make(that he was) First things first Goals >>>> assists And Assists are arguably one of the least reliable metrics for measuring a player’s creative ability anyways Ronaldinho could’ve easily had 2 assists in a World Cup final This is to all the Messi fans who say "MbAPPe is OvERrATeD!! He MiSSeD a ChaNCE iN tHE UCL fINaL!" Let me introduce you to R9 - arguably the greatest striker football has ever seen. Even he has missed absolute sitters in his career. pic.twitter.com/6iyl5juKlf— Doué Won A UCL Before Yamal (@CredibleIAM) September 5, 2020 The fact that he didn’t is not on him It is on the striker who failed to convert his clear cut chances into goals. You should maybe include this footage in your troll football compilations Now if scoring goals let alone assisting goals in domestic cup finals was really the ultimate metric of greatness then it wouldn’t just be Lamine Yamal you’d need to talk about. There is a certain Didier drogba who’s cup final record wipes the floor with Yamal and Ronaldinho combined. 9 - Didier Drogba has scored nine goals in nine cup final appearances for Chelsea. Occasion. #ChampionsLeagueFinal— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) May 19, 2012 There isn’t a single fan on planet earth who would argue that Didier Drogba was a superior player to Ronaldinho Nobody except maybe you. If zagallo can make it as the 13th greatest player of all time in your ‘well researched list’ then anything is possible and nothing can really be ruled out
nothing new Carlito 86 ! your informations I know and i saw all the things that you mentioned right now .. well, the reality is ... or the real fact is .. that Ronaldinho .... hasn't goals , assists , pre-assists and tackles in Major Finals confirmed . you say that he has it or claim he has it then show me it in videos completed assist (Opta) don't come to me with fallacies that he could have it.. this is the same as saying.. Better than Van Basten for sure. Euro88 and a few European Cup matches won MVB an "among the 20 greatest ever" status, that I personally consider completely underserved. It is indeed plain to see: Careca scored on average much more difficult goals than MVB, and when Gullit had to stay out for several weeks in a row due to injuries -while MVB was regularly on the pitch- the performance of AC Milan declined dramatically. I believe AC MILAn would conquer three scudettos in a row in 1987-1990 had they had Careca as center striker instead of MVB. Careca had the old school dribbling/shooting skills than MVB lacked, or at least he did not master to highest level. C. Ronaldo belongs to a different era and comparison is not straightforward. And in any case I would tend to think CR is above of both of them, even if he is a kind of player I am not fond of.
yes ... really sounds for me that You really saw the whole matches ...from Ac Milan 80's and 90's.. that is a good Signal for me .. in general yes Examples Verona 2 vs 1 Ac Milan ... before Van Basten was idiotically sent off and childishly don't needs this .. gullit creates an indirect assist to Van Basten and Van Basten misses a clear goal later is sent off .. van basten and rijkaard lost their heads which cost an easy title to AC Milan ..in 1989-1990 .. in the 1990 World Cup against West Germany Rijkaard and Van Basten .. playing very very bad .. ad Rijkaard again having disciplinary problems Rijkaard .. was a player with concentration problems per 90 minutes played like Ronaldinho Gaucho too so he had a lot of ups and downs in the whole matches.
the problems Of Van Basten .. i believe more .. in physical problems .. than finishing Skills " quality " the own Van Basten ..on interview admitted several problems with lack of stamina, natural fitness and endurance in matches before the famous goal against USSR in 1988 Van Basten himself said he was getting some air again... that his resistance ended there... luckily for him Van Tiggelen disarmed or tackled correctly and started a new counter-attack... very quickly really and passed to Muhren he made an early cross you can see this... Van Basten didn't come back to marking or disarm or tackling there. scores an incredible goal
There’s some insane revisionism going on in this thread In a wide-ranging interview with Spanish outlet Diario AS, Van Basten explained how, in his opinion, AC Milan had the title taken out of their hands. 'They did everything possible to give it to Napoli,' he said. The refereeing scandals against Milan, Inter and Verona were incredible while there were continuous favours for Napoli,' he added. 'The match that was given to them in Bergamo against Atalanta for the episode of Alemao was something absurd. Napoli won that Scudetto inside the offices.' Internacional | Marco Van Basten: "No es que jugase con dolor; vivía con dolor" Marco Van Basten: "No es que jugase con dolor; vivía con dolor" - AS.com Luciano Moggi was the director of Napoli in 89/90 https://www.football-napoli.net/Direttori-Sportivi/Napoli/Luciano-Moggi/788/ Don corleone himself Milan losing the scudetto has absolutely nothing to do with Gullit being absent or present
just see the game . ! Van Basten being his own lawyer I ask you??? van basten was expelled in a very childish and stupid way
van basten was expelled in a very childish and stupid way Go to 19 : 00 minutes at video ... Van Basten lost a clear chance there ... creates by Gullit ... later ... 3 players are sent off ... ac Milan ..! an offside Goal from Hellas Verona .. !etc..
come on Carlito 86 ! Frank 73 .. just saying ..that Careca and Gullit ..were better than Van Basten ... and C. Ronaldo above all them .. this is not a Crime at all come on ???
Carlito, I remember very well the 1989-90 serie A championship and how it ended, and I do believe I can really have a say about it. AC Milan started the season badly: Gullit was forced away for quite a long period, and Van Basten, the star that supposedly should have taken the team into his own hand, was performing well below the level that would have been needed to mount a plausible title challenge. At about mid-season, AC Milan did very strongly rev up and put a spectacular sequence of wins in line, culminating in defeating Napoli 3-0 and overtaking them at the lead. But this exploit proved to be very energy demanding and actually in the last two months they appeared very tired and confused. They lost badly to Inter and Juve (that stole AC Milan the Coppa Italia as well) and in the end got re-surpassed by Napoli. The infamous Alemao affair surely played a big role, much in the same way as the very biased referee of Verona-Milan (when MVB got expelled). But the team was undeniably playing badly and looked nowhere near their best shape. All in all, mentioned facts that took place at the very end of the season did have an impact, but AC Milan paid for the bad form of his (supposed) world-class-best-ever striker in the first half the tournament, otherwise they would have been champions whatever farce their rival had staged on the pitch. Also, Napoli performances were impaired by Careca suffering a major physical issue. Remove penalties and you'll find that Van Basten lagged behind Careca quite a bit. (Careca had no penalty goals because they were all MAradona's, not because he was unwilling/afraid to take them)
Anyway, with that I don't want to start any quarrel with Frank and/or Wiliam of course, but just to add a bit of a note of caution on dismissing Van Basten's 1989/90 Serie A season.... I guess both of you will like & enjoy Gullit Serie A debut video that CristianoPuskas(/GyurkaSarosi) posted on Twitter anyway: Fußballkönig on X: "Ruud Gullit vs Pisa 1987/88 perfect Serie A debut. https://t.co/iZg6EYekeV" / X
