    The following is a "Scientific" ranking of the Greatest Club Teams in Europe 1955-Present. It shows not only which team was better but also... by how much......The ranking followed a point system which incorporated such factors as European, Domestic and Player success. It also rewarded consitency in winning. Lets look at the Top 10 Greatest European Club sides since 1955:

    ---Point System (How it Works):

    (European Cup/Champions League)
    7 Points for EC/CL Win
    *** additional 7 points if win three in a row (ex: Real Madrid 55-60)
    *** additional 3 points if win two in a row (ex: Benfica 61-62)
    3 points for EC/CL 2nd place (ex: Inter 67)

    Note: In order to connect EC/CL wins (ex. Barcelona 06, 09, 11) five (5) or more players needed to play in the two connecting editions of EC/CL. Example: Xavi, Puyol, Valdes, Iniesta, Eto and Messi all played in the Barcelona 06 and 09 CL winning editions....therefore, they are considered as the same team...Barca 05-Present.

    3 Points for Win (ex: Juventus 84)

    (Intercontinental Cup/FIFA Club World Cup)
    2 Points for Win (ex. Juventus 85)

    (Domestic League)
    2 Points for Win (ex: Barcelona 10)

    (Players) (Awards)
    3 Points per player for Win in Ballon d'Or/FIFA World Player (ex. Van Basten 88)
    1 Point for top three finish in Ballon d'Or/FIFA World Player (ex. Iniesta 10)

    (Players) (World Cup/Euro Cup)

    0.5 Points per player, if played in a World Cup or Euro Cup final (within 1 year period of teams best years, ex: Puskas 54, Muller 72, 74)

    5 Points per Club
    Ex: Ajax...total football, Barcelona.... tica-taca, Inter Milan...Catenaccio, etc. Such teams enriched football in a way beyond for example... Real Madrid 97-02
