It's pretty sad but I've only seen 2 non-holywood movies. City of God and au dela des barricades in my grade 11 french class :p

Let's put it this way, City of God is my favourite movie, and I slept through most of my French classes.

Are you defining "non-Hollywood" as "non-American"? There are tons of excellent American films that are made outside of the major studios.

10 off the top of my head-if I thought about too long, I'd wind up in Italian neo-realism land, which is by far, my favorite period in film history. It's a toss up, but I like Umberto D just a tad better than Bicycle Thief.

    Umberto D (Italy)
    Black Rain (Japan)
    Los Olvidados (Mexico)
    I Vitelloni (Italy)
    Das Boot (Germany)
    Peeping Tom (UK)
    Amores perros (Mexico)
    Un Coeur En Hiver (France)
    Der Untergang (Downfall) (Germany)
    The Field (Ireland/UK)
