"Diallo, whose transfer fee was in the neighborhood of $200,000, according to sources, reportedly will get $650,000 in salary. The 31-year-old striker is expected to make his debut tomorrow." If that $200,000 is correct, that seems pretty low. Sure, they offload a large salary too, but if Mathis is sold in the offseason then the Metro's are looking at Faria, by far the worst of the three, as they're only returning forward.
"As the criticisms flew, Mathis received a boost of confidence from an unlikely source. U.S. national team coach Bruce Arena called Mathis and offered his support, while also reminding him that he still has the 2006 World Cup in Germany to work toward." But I'm sure Bruce hates Mathis!
