    It's a must

    A win here that is.
I know we have had about, what, 2 wins here since the war?

We need to get some kind of result actually to get some momentum rolling again and to keep pace with the leading group.

We lost ground early on the top four last season and stayed on the periphery of the Champions league slots for the entire season.

The set back against the Nors must be forgoten (easier said than done i know) and the bread and butter must now be looked after.

Petit should sit his arse on the bench IMHO and let young Morris get the nod in the middle with Lumpy.

Melchy-Gallas-Terry-Le Saux for the back line.

De Lucas (if fit, if not Stanic)-Lumpy-Morris-Zenden for the middle.

Eidur and Jimmy up the front.

    Thoughts anyone?

Too bleeding depressed to have thoughts

Yep, we need to win. 97 years, 2 wins or something like that. I have no idea what the answer is, but it aint working. Is it Bates? Is it Claudio? If its claudio who could we replace him with, I just don't see the talent out there in football management.

your team seems about right, although I think Mario STatic is beyond redemption now, I'd rather see him left out of the squad.

Melchy-Gallas-Terry-Le Saux for the back line.

    De Lucas/Gronks -Lumpy-Morris-Zenden

    Eidur - Jimmy

If its not going well we can bring on Zola and...and...the Midfield Maginot line Manu Petit.

If it wasn't such an important game I'd like to see our young frenchie RB given a chance. We need defenders who like being defenders and know how to keep in position :)

I don't know. If Zola's on the bench I'm not sure why he's not brought on at Right-Mid sometimes. R has no faith in Zenden going 90, so swap him with GFZ who will do damage on either side.

Enjoy the match friends, I'll be away for the weekend.

    200%

Hooly-air is like don’t call me a “father figure” he seems to be going down the O’Leary “little boys” route. Conceited twat. Don't hurt my little scouser babies.

Jimmy says - 'It's not that I'm not happy here. I am. It's not that I don't like it here. I do. It's not that I don't love the fans. I do.
'I feel happy and I feel good in a blue shirt and playing for Chelsea, and everybody knows that I give 200% for the club.

    I like that line up.
Game is on the telly, anyone paying to watch it?

I might, haven't decided if i want to spend the $20 to see what might be a right good stuffing at the hands of the scousers.

Ranieri has a tough one here no doubt. We come off a pretty bad run of results whilst the 'Pool have had some real good motivation in their last couple.
If we lose today, and lets not kid ourselves here mates as this is a very real possibility, i think the shouts for Ranieris head will start to get a bit louder.

Thing of it is i really can't see him going no matter what happens as he was just given such a long contract by Bates and Birch. What with all the reported, and seemingly true, financial problems it might just be beyond our financial scope to sack him and hire a replacement.

Interesting decision that was by Bates et all to extend him such a long contract when he had already still a full season to run on the current one.
An extension of 5 years might now seem to have been a very foolish move as one of perhaps another 2/3 years would have been more appropiate.

The tactics of Ranieri have always been a point of discussion at the club. The sentiment of quite a few people, from so called experts to just the ordinary fella in the stands is that he really blew it in Stavanger.Playing an unfit terry, whilst Gallas has being playing out of his skin in the middle was criminal, who gifted them a goal, but more so with the inclusion of that fuker Petit who seems to pick and choose the mqatches he is fit to play in.Morris, who was in a decent run of form was left on the bench in favour of him.Bad call i say.But it was a European tie so naturally Petit deemed himself fit to play...and contributed less than fuk all to the effort.Morris should have started and his spirit and willingness to at least get stuck in would have helped.

Don't know whats up with Hass, but methinks it's just about all over for him at Stamford bridge as he really seems to have fuk all interest in puting in a decent game since the Barca rumours have been around.Quite simply i think he should have been rested on Thursday, or at least brought on late for Zola, who should have started the game.Christ sakes the form he is in would surely have dictated that he at leat kick off the game.Jimmy has no motivation at all, if the ball ain't played to his feet he won't move and when he don't score we are in effect playing with only 10 men on the field as he has never, and most likely never will, contribute anything in a "team" sence of play.

    Ranieri...well what to say.
Old grumblings of "strange tactics" and "poor team selection" are again rearing their heads.
One thing i will say though is that this attitude of "well we scored now lets sit back" has simply got to stop.Terry scored on Thursday and that was just about the last foray forward.
He has being doing this for a while now, quite a while in fact and it just don't work for us.
Siting back on one goal leads is okay in Italy where the team is usually quite adept at defending suck like leads and in fact it is their style of play for the most part.
It rarely works in the EPL however and it certainly ain't for us with the players we have.

Ah well, i done ranting now and the game kicks off soon.
Gonna get a bite to eat and sorry if the words are spelt wrong as i am having a feeling of doom about this game and can't be bothered to spell check :)

    Even Big Blue are doubtfull

    "we've won the toss"

The only thing we'll win here today they said.
    Ho hum.

Gotta get out of this mood.

    They win again

The Arse just saw off the Mackems 3-1 at home, no surprise really i suppose.

Whats the record number of wins in the league since we got relegated (as the 4th team) to bring it to 20 teams?

The Arse might just break it this year.
Have to try and look that up later.

    Petit

15 mis gone and he has been mentioned three times...once for a miskick and twice for give aways.....and Morris is on the bench huh?

Jimmy starts and Eidur on the bench?
Really don't understand that at all.I am all for Zola being on at the start rather than on for the last 20 or so, but i would have had cash-in-the-bank (his new nick it seems these days) on the wood.

Static is having a good quater so far.

    Half-Hour gone then

Well, we're certainly holding our own here.
Lumpy had a free header earlier on from only 10 yards out and put it completly wide.

Le Saux is out of it a bit and Static has definitely lost the plot on the left in the last 15.

Hesky wining far to many balls.

    0-0 at the half

    Not so shabby.

Rottenham win at the death with a Redknapp lat minute winner.
He would have been a good addition to this team.Certainly much better than Static on the left.

Leeds held to 0-0 at the Villa...or is that a case of the Villans droping 2 points :)

    Slight Edge

We seem to have the slight edge, on this, I think overrated Scouser team.

Lampard should have scored; If he wants to play for England he has to score those ones.

    Carlo is the best keeper
Zola is the best striker on the pitch
    Our "d" is much better

Which brings us to the midfield
    We NEED much better crosses
Petit has mastered the 3 yard pass to Lampard, which he occasionally alternates with the 10 yard back pass to Desailly
    Lamps has been quiet
Static has quite decent close control when he gets it, Gronks doesn't, but he can run, Between them they might make ONE decent player

Would like to Zenden at some point
Jimmy really needs to get it together

Clan - Can I read it later?
    good l o n g message that one

    Hasn't looked like a goal

Probably not too bad for us, no one has realy stood out for either side, all looks very tight.

    Evenly matched so far.

Our attacks don't look like troubling anyone, i'm not a real fan of the Zola/Jimbo tandem.

Jimmy looks about as useful as a bucket, with maybe a bit more movement, a bit.

You could say the same about Owen though.

Defences well ontop, not much more to say. Gronks crossing has been really bad. Thats about it?

    Oh dear

Just saw the replay for the Lampard header (which i missed)

A free header from the penalty spot.

A bad miss, Gronks got a good cross in that time though. I guess that's something right?

Our fans seems in good voice though.

Lots of loud Chelsea cheers can be heard.

    Onya boys.

I'd say Soxy and Gallas are our best players so far.

    2nd half...
