This is really making me sick. What is it now, two points out of 12 since Pardew left.

4 from 12. Sometimes when a manager goes the team gets fired up to prove him wrong. Sometimes they lose heart and discipline. With Reading the latter has clearly been the case. But the quest for a new manager should be over tomorrow. Or maybe Thursday. Or Friday....

can a manager alone make the difference to get this team into the Premiership or would they need some reinforcements on the pitch ?

well the squad is slightly stronger than last year's squad which made the play-offs so the team should be capable of achieving that again. It is a tight division, much much tighter than the EPL so managerial skill, confidence, organisation etc make much more difference than they would do in the top flight.

Obviously yes. Look where we were when Pards left, and what became of us, in only a few weeks. Pards was a detail fanatic, and it showed in the play of this team. Dillon's team was sloppy too often, and it cost us.
Can Copps gets us into the EPL? No idea. I don't like to have to come from down table, but it is only October.
