Rapids vs. Atlas So with this match on October 30th do we get everyone into the 126 section? Did I see that correctly last night? Just to see how this will work for next season? What kind of a crowd do people expect? I am unsure as we could get enough Mexican fans there wanting to avenge the US vs. Mexico match or we could get all those that can't tolerate any other Mexican club other than there own and cheer on the Rapids. Any thoughts?
Saw the blurb on the TV last night. I guess this match is going to happen after all. While the focus is on LA at the moment, it never hurts to look ahead. Any ticket information?
I don't know what to tell you, other than getting everyone into 126 is a great idea. It would be a nice trial run to see what may work next year.
Don't mean to be clueless (not the first time) but what is this about? Is there a game here V Atlas on the 30th? Couldn't find anything on the Raps website.
Re: Rapids vs. Atlas well i'm going to be in 126. i have been all season. i'm the one with the jolly roger flag, and the checkered flag. and i plan on staying there, no matter what anyone says or does. i just hope the Atlas fans don't sit in our section. i hope they know that there is an away section on the West End.
im a bit clueless myself. i havent seen any commercials or anything other than on the us website under schedules it posts that there is a game at invesco but on 10/23/02 with atlas vs. morelia. not sure how long its been there or what that means.
Until I see an official release out of the Rapids PR Dept. I am skeptical to assume anything is 100%....................
I saw it on the broadcast Saturday night. I think there was a number to call for tickets across the screen too. Heck, if there's a match on 10/23 I'll go to that too.
I'm no webmaster, but shouldn't this be on the website? I am glad they are playing, and I plan on going, but why are we keeping the event so quiet?
Thanks Trooper. Northcal, the website isn't exactly known for being up to date over the last three/four months.

Count me in for buying some tickets into the the lower portion of 126. I don't suppose anyone has talked to the front office about this, to try and convince them to only put passionate RAPIDS supporters in this section? Yes, they read these boards. But it would be nice to know they're actually committed to this. Heaven forbid they'd initiate this kind of plan on their own.
why do you need the front office staff to do this? sense when do those bastards control what we do, and what we don't do??? just go, and stand there. it's not like they're going to bring in the riot police...
Well, you get an angry mom behind you who keeps asking you to sit down, and then she eventually goes to security, and then it becomes a pain in the ass. If you make the section supporters only, hopefully that becomes a rare occurance. Just ask Zar....I think he has some experience with problem fans.
I'm in for lower portion of 126. And Rapids/Arsenal Fan is right. That's what we need from the front office, some designation that this is a vocal section.
1. How many season ticket holders will there really be in the lower-half of 126, especially as most of them will have used their A & B tickets for the playoff games? 2. Would these season ticket holders really be so put out if they were moved to equivalent seats in another part of the stadium for one exhibition game? 3. If the long-term dream of the Rapids is to have a large group of passionate supporters in the stadium, then at some point a number of season ticket holders will have to move; the longer the team waits to do this, the more of a pain it will be. 4. What's going to disappoint existing season ticket holders more, loud fans or Mexican fans that throw beer and spit at them? 5. For the first time in memory, users on a Rapids board (either BS or Rapidspeak) have voiced unilateral agreement for the same section. Sounds like a great opportunity for both fans and the Rapids to give this a try for the future, I'd hate to see resistance at this point due to a small handful of season ticket holders. All that said, I ask again... has anyone out there approached the Rapids about this idea? We can't expect the Rapids to hand this to us on a plate, someone's gotta volunteer at least a little effort to figure things out with the team.
i think there are about 10 to 15 season ticket holders. this is off the top of my head, i'm trying to remember what faces have been in their seats for most of the season. but i can tell you this, i'm not going to relocate. and if anyone asks me, i'll tell 'em no. i've been in sectoin 126 with my banners hanging over the railing, and i don't plan on moving. never. and the other season ticket holders there (aside from one or two who can go to hell) are good people and would stand up with you. they're loud, and they love the Rapids. and i don't think they should be relocated for a little exhibition game so you can try out your fantasy. you see where i'm coming from? you're an independent supporters club, and you shouldn't have the Rapids front office staff making things for you in the stadium. i think you guys are a big enough group where collectively the whole section will stand up with you. especially if you occupy the whole front end of 126. but, hey, whatever is easier for you. i just want you to know, that i'm not moving, and neither are my banners. what's going to dissapoint mexican fans? the river ratz, or jewish boys kicking their ass for spilling bear on their slacks and shoes?
Have just received early word with regards to the Atlas game, the Rapids have set set aside the first bunch of rows in the lower half of 126 for passionate, pro-rapids supporters only. Full details should be available sometime thursday.
