Oh lord, no! It can only get worse from here. The 49ers sign him up and as soon as they start doing wind sprints and he starts toasting defensive backs, then the fake field goal gets added in and the next thing you know Donovan's out for a year and a half after getting crunched by Warren Sapp. Okay, I'm better now.

Quote "Burn general manager Greg Elliott said last week he has begun contacting six undisclosed finalists. New York/New Jersey general manager Nick Sakiewicz confirmed Wednesday that MetroStars assistant Mo Johnston is among them. Sakiewicz said he has given Elliott permission to interview Johnston. " Shouldn't Nick wait until the Metro playoff run ends?...This is not good timing...Then again, the MPF "campaign" shows a lot of what goes on within the Metro organization....
In an otherwise ambiguous article, I found this part interesting: I hadn't heard about AEG "taking over" Spartan from SJ State. That - on the face of it anyway - seems like a coup. Does anyone else know any more details?
It kind of flew under the radar, but was discussed a few months ago. http://sanjose.bizjournals.com/sanjose/stories/2003/06/30/smallb3.html
This headline is so misleading as the article actually suggests that the economic circumstance of the club is getting better.

Every year, I hear that a bunch of international rugby stars have signed with the NFL. The story reads something like "Wilkinson, whose foot has provided England with many a famous win, has signed for $3m over two years with NFL club Miami Dolphins." Mysteriously, none of these people ever actually end up on an NFL roster. That's a shame, because Wilkinson actually is a better kicker than half the guys in the NFL, and he wouldn't flinch if he needed to make an open-field tackle. Rant about international media ends now.
