Yeah I know it's another 2.5 hours until the match but I figured we'd get this mofo started now. :D

In less than 30 minutes the 2002 Gold Cup kicks off at the Rose Bowl with Panama taking on Trinidad & Tobago (I'll be giving periodic updates over in the National Teams forum on this match) and then followed by Mexico v USWNT.

How bad of an ass whupping is Mexico gonna receive today? I say the final score will be 5-0 US. Mia gets at least one goal and will lead the team in assists in this match. I am guessing Millie will get at least two goals. And then maybe Mark Krikorian and Heather Mitts notching goals.

Hopefully others will be chiming in with help during the PBP. And if anyone is following on MatchTracker if you can post something we miss..I'm sure we'd greatly appreciate it.

    Enjoy!

    ------------------------

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! keep POST-MATCH discussion in another thread. clavs already stickied one over in A&D and there should probably be a seperate thread in here.

    ----------------------

And some of you Charge fans need to realize that the USWNT is not stacked top to bottom with Charge players and their coaching staff. Get the ************ over it!!! The whole freaking world does not revolve around Coach K and his band of Charge players. Wipe off the Astroslide and just sit back and enjoy the USWNT making mince meat out of Mexico! :D

    YEEEEEEAH!
    Thanks, Fear.
    You rock!

I'm saying 6-0, USA, Mia will have a hat trick, with Lil, Joy and Millie each getting one.

    WAR USA!

Only 5-0? How ghastly. I say 7-0. Mia scores twice, and I agree with you, Fear, she'll lead the team in assists. I expect Millie to have one or two.

Kirkorian and Mitts have a goal a piece? Come on, man. Surely you jest. They'll have at least two a piece!

(Yes, I know that would make it eight goals, but remember, chodes can't count.)

    :D

I'll help with the PBP unless I notify otherwise. I don't expect to have the MatchTracker up, because I can't watch the TV and watch that thing. I'm not capable of that much multitasking. :p

Tracy Milburn is just about the worst commentator I've heard. Doesn't speak and then occasionally when addressed giggles and says wow. She's made perhaps two actual analytical comments in the whole Panama/T&T game, sigh.

ps I'll try to contribute to the PBP as the US match goes along

Yes, thank you, very much for the PBP!

I'm supposed to be reading Huck Finn to get a head start...but I'm thinking I won't get too much of that accomplished.

    GOOOOO US!!

the t&t game just ended, so I'm guessing it'll be 10/15 minutes until the next game starts.

Who is following this mofo on MatchTracker? Please post the Mexico/US lineups here. Thanks.

All post match discussion shall take place in the Charge forum. Ya' know cuz the Charge are the feeder into the USWNT now.

Anyone else getting a "502 Connection Failed" error when they try to post? This is very, very frustrating. Who the ************ is clogging the system right now?!!?!?

Gotta love white trash revving their engines in my neighborhood . Must be Charge fans.

Wow....Lilly and Hamm are the forwards. Parlow is going in the mid. Mexico going with a 3-4-3 lineup.

Millie didn't play on the USWNT for some while. She comes off the bench. You earn your spot back.

Us and Mexico are playing at a much faster pace than the panama/tnt game (no real suprise there)

TR crosses to the box, mex clears it out to a throw in for the us, nada

Ummm...Lilly sure doesn't look like she's playing as a forward right now CP was much higher than lil.

    sobs tries a cross, nada

TR tripped along the far side line at the 20 yard line :p

The field has stripes from yesterdays ucla football game.

Handball called on Wagner I believe on the edge of the 18.

Reddick sends the freekick to the far side...Sobs sends ball into 18..cleared out by Mexico...TR gets fouled on far side by Perez....freekick taken from the 20 yard line...Mia takes it...sends it into 18..cleared out by Tricolores.

    Sobs jukes...blah blah blah...

Wagner gets goal number one for the US. Philly Charge fans going nuts!!!

Lilly lays off a pass to Wagner who is about a yard out from the 18 and she blasts a shot to the left post. Nice.

Keep in mind folks that Aly Wanger was a Philly Charge fan find. Can't wait till she plays for Philly next season.
