Little Stevie seems to be in the doghouse. Who knows if he starts...

Looks like Cherundolo is replaced by Daniel Stefulj in the starting line up.

His performances were just too bad in the past weeks.......

I always thought Stefulj was a better RB, but he is very versatile so he played LB, DM . Hanover in the meantime signed quality specialist for those positions, and Cherundolo established himself as the starting RB. Stefulj will now get a chance to play in his best position, and I think he’ll take it.

...and nearly scores after taking on half of the 1860 team on a solo run from midfield, barely misses wide left.

(unless my babelfish skills arent working today)

Stevie should be in the mix at right midfield (not right fullback) for the Nats....he CAN beat guys, probably as good a crosser as anyone on Nats right now, and has high defensive workrate...

and live with Frankie Hejduk as our Rightback? Not likely. The only way that I would want to see Steve as a RM for USA is Sanneh's back magically heals

Both teams down to 10 men--Meyer for 1860, Christiansen for Hannover.

Something like that daddy-O..i like the big, athletic young backline as the one to build upon for future (the one you suggest...maybe adding someone from Spector, etc if the young ones rocket up)....short, not superfast backs have struggled for Nats...international game is just too fast, or athetic (read size)....but Cherundolo definently an improvement on Hedjuk

Are you talking of the same Hejduk who was nit even good enough for Leverkusens B-team?????????

He only had one ot two good games there, made a nice goal followed by a strange celebrations-dance and went back to the Nowhere-land.

How can someone like frankie be a part of the US-NT?????????

    1-1, FT.

And Frankie isn't half bad when he actually plays regularly.

He really wasn’t a success in Germany but he did OK for USA in WC. He filled in at left-back, probably their weakest position, in the first couple of games and played right wing-back v. Germany IIRC.

How in the hell does this happen? Man, if I were Hannover's coach, this would completely piss me off. That's just a lack of concentration.

Work rate and speed combo. Disrupts other team's offense.

Not my favorite player to be sure, but Arena likes him and he does work fairly well in a bunker.

So, what about Stevie C? Kicker shows him a right mid in a 3-5-2.

Has he redeemed himself or is he still in the doghouse?

Hannover now is not half the team that Leverkusen was when Hejduk played for it. Hejduk may get time for a team like this.

Kicker rated Cherundolo 3.5, just one Hannover field player got a better rating. This one also is from kicker:

K: Mr Cherundolo, due to Lala’s injury you were allowed to play, how did you like the new position in the right midfield?
SC: It was no major difference for me to play there.

K: One week ago in Dortmund you were the scapegoat. Did this strain you?
SC: I didn’t like it. You don’t lose 2:6 just because one player was bad. But I got over it.

K: Your performance – a reaction on the criticism?
SC: No, I just wanted to help to collect three points. Unfortunately I missed a giant chance.

K: All in all the team did not show attractive soccer.
SC: You try it with fight and long balls if the success is missing.

Has Dolo ever played right mid for the USMNT? Seems so obvious to me that perhaps he's better off there.
