Woohoo, the day after I lowered my youth squad investment to $5000 (due to some undisclosed financial problems), I come out with my first solid pull. As a scoring trainer and with the new wing attacks, I'm tempted to train him up to at least passable scoring rather than putting him on the TL. What do you guys think?

It's very possible people might overvalue players with scoring/winger until they figure out how this forward/wing attack stuff works, but with know way of knowing how long it'll take for him to bump to passable, I couldn't be sure if it's worth it. But seeing as pure wingers don't go for much anyway, it might be worth it.

I have this thing about pulling 17 y.o. excellent wingers. Maybe I need to start training wingers or something...

Either way, he's on the TL now, starting at $200k

20 year old inad, close to becoming passable...not great but at least TL worthy. Good past few weeks youth pull wise.

It will take more than 5 seasons to get him up to solid experience. I would give him ~1.5 seasons per exp pop, and with 6 pops needed ... you do the math.

But if I was you I'd keep him and train him for a few seasons. From a quick look at your team it doesn't appear that you have a set of 10 trainees. You may want to keep and train him for a few reasons.

First of all, his market value will not be all that high due to his age. So you won't miss out on a lot of funds by selling him.

Second, he has a high TSI, hey may be a high solid in PM. If this is the case, it'd be worth your while to at least pop him to excellent PM.

Third, it appears that you do not utilize all of your 50% PM slots, he gives you a free option to make use of one of those slots. I would train him there (and maybe in the middle when injuries allow) for a few seasons. Then when he's ~21 sell him off in the formidable-outstanding range.

Finally, I am a big proponent of training your own players when you can. This guy gives you that option, plus the more he is trained the more likely he'll stick around long enough to become somebody's coach.

what's really nice is that I listed a trainee 2 days prior to this pull so I don't even have to replace that guy.
