Yay!!! Finally something on TV this Wednesday. This game airs on The Deuce at...

    730pm EDT
    630pm CDT
    530pm MDT
    430pm PDT

The starting lineup against Russia was...

    GK: Scurry
    DEF: Sobs, Brandi, Fawcett, Slaton
    MID: Hamm, Foudy, Lilly, TR
    F: Parlow & Abby

I doubt this will be the starting lineup on Wednesday. I would guess Siri gets the starting nod in goal.

According to milbrett, Abby played like crap today and was crap during the warmups so I am guessing that perhaps she will be sitting when the game starts. Maybe start Mac in place of her.

I would LOVE to see Wagner start this match. Have the mid consist of Foudy, Lilly, TR, and Wagner. Put Mia and Mac up top.

    Blah blah blah.

    FearM9's prediction:

    USWNT 18:0 Austrailia

    --------------------------

And attendance for today's game was HORRENDOUS!!!

I hope SAS is sold out for both Wednesday and Sunday.

    18, huh? :D

On Abby playing like ************. That happened the last time Abby and Cindy were up top together. Either let Mia and Abby play up top or just don't play Cindy and Abby together. I thought the Scotland layout was good. Cindy for a half, Abby for a half.

    I say USA 7-0 Aussieland

Sit Lilly for the remainder of the tourney if her back is screwed up. The Gold Cup is in four weeks. The USWNT needs a healthy Lilly. The Nike Cup, while we all love it, is not very important in the whole scheme of things.

    GO AUSSIE!!!

    18-0?!?!?

    7-0?!?!?!

what do you take us aussies for!!!!! you have GOT to be dreaming.

last time we met, from memory was in the 2000 Pacific Cup and we kept you guys scroeless till the 79th minute of the game and USWNT were lucky to win 1-0.

and I know the matildas can do it again, it will be a draw, and even if the US win, it will certainly not be by 18 or 7 gaols...a lot less then that!

    :) :D
anyway, lets all enjoy the game, though its a tournement, its fun too!

    GO AUSSIE!!!!!!

Last time they played it resulted in a pretty good matchup. Should be a good game.. not expecting the same result as the Russia-Uswnt game today. Go Matildas.. Go Di :)

The USWNT is 13-0 against the Matildas.

They've scored 51 goals and have only allowed 8.

that was the Australia vs USWNT game - last game of the tournement, US had to win to win the cup or China would have & US won the Cup on goal difference (the 9-1 game against canada is what really got them the cup & i was there, yay!)

I watched this game and have it on tape somewhere. Correct me if I'm wrong but that match was flat out HORRIBLE. IIRC...the weather was crappy...it was raining right? Both teams did not play good soccer.

yeah it was in the rain.. in all honesty US had their chances and failed to put a bunch of them away.. Matildas did pretty well.. whole point i think vivy is getting at is they did hold US to a 1-0 win.. regardless of the weather and all that stuff. The Matildas just lost 2-0 to Canada and then beat them 1-0.. pretty good in my opinion

true it was very bad weather, and the rain was non stop all the way but i remeber that the US had plenty of chances in the 1st half, and US could have easily been a head. and as usual di, playing a great role in defence right rita? :)

im sure mia had good chances but never finished them off well - could be the weather, could be aussie good defence or the team was off on the day

it was an even match all the way through, it was a certain draw and i just read that match report, US won on a PK - could have easily been a draw, should have been a draw. lucky to win US.

Is Julie Murray playing? I doubt it. Oh well it would have been nice to see her but....

I hate to break it to ya Aussie fan. In case you havent noticed Mia, Abby and CP have been quite the busy scorers.

    I predict USA 6 Aussie's 0

no julie isnt playing, hwoever the australian team is not just based around her, we have very capable strikers, a well organised midfield and a hard working defence. and with our captain - anissa tann getting her 100th A international cap with the US game, she will certainly be determined and lead her team & country with pride

yes, the USWNT is full of big names, both in america and internationally known, but you do now have to be that big to be good. we have our players and mind you, a few of them, though not at WUSA are currently members of W-League teams.

may be a 6-0 score but who knows...btw fearm9, my country is spelt AustRALIA not AustRAILIA...thankyou

    GO AUSSIE!!!

I received an e-mail from the Courage Ticket people, stating tickets are still available ($18-$55). I assume for both days.
