Was this thing televised? I didn't see any info on TV. I wouldnt think so, it being an X game, but just curious.
The match was not on TV WAR TRACEY MILBURN!!! Here is an article from the Houston Chronicle: Hamm packs 'em in at WUSA showcase Fans brave rain to see Freedom, Beat By JANNY HU Copyright 2002 Houston Chronicle
Re: The match was not on TV That the match got this much interest in a non-WUSA city speaks well of the potentials for expansion, something that will have to eventually happen to ensure the long-tem viability of the league.
I think this is nothing more than the "We wanna see Mia" factor. Besides, it wasn't going to be shown on television so of course it would have to sell out.
I went to the Beat/Washington game. The place was packed. Everybody looked really good. It was nice to see Kerry out there. Sawa, Cromwell and Bivens were not there. Thrasher and Remy played alot in the second half. Nonen did not come in til the second half. Dayna Smith played the first half and then came in for Nancy in the second half..Nancy hurt her knee but I think she is ok...Overall it was a good game
Here is a much better write up on the Beat site: http://www.theatlantabeat.com/328574.html Looks like Kerry Gragg got to play.
Teams don't make their cuts until Dec 1st. I don't know how deep the cuts have to be...if they have to be down to a league mandated number or not. I've got the email at home. I'll check then.
