While ESC is passing out fliers trying to promote this game (http://www.empiresc.com/mf/esc/story.jsp?ID=1534) you can help too! Bring a friend to the game! Mid week attendance has been iffy and this is the first final the Metros have ever been to. Attendance has to be high for this game! I already have two people (non-soccer people, mind you) confirmed for the game and more on the way. Support you Metros and bring people to the game!
NOW LISTEN AND LISTEN GOOD!! THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME IN METROS HISTORY AND IT'LL TAKE PLACE AT GS SO THERE'S NO REASON WHY SKIP THAT ONE I HAVE A COUSIN IN A TRIP IN THE STATES AND I'LL INCOURAGE HIM TO BUY TICKETS FOR THE GAME
unfortunately, the only 2 guys i know who would come to the game (my roomate and his bro), are metrofans, but can not at all miss whatever class they have...im taking the day off from school and work, and want to get my gameday started as early as possible...im hopin i can get some guys to join me as early as possible in the parking lot...anyone want in?
I've got my wife and a friend from work coming to the game, and I'm leaving flyers at bars and diners in the Chelsea area. Also, a letter to the Times. Why not? Let's make this the Big One.
I'm hoping to be able to go. My chances of going would be slightly better if the game was at 7:30 instead of 8, and if it were at Rutgers instead of The Swamp. But, since my attendance record and grades have been good up to date, if I don't have a lab the next day (which I would have to go in early in the morning to make up), my parents may say yes.
Dude if u dont find anyone to hang with your more than welcome to join our party... we will probably be in lot 16A but im not sure yet.... just look for the big gray van with tints and Metrostars written all over it... we will have the grills fired up and cold beer... email me if interested secnpa@aol.com
When I called to get my extra tix, I made the comment to my rep that the marketing people better announce the hell out of this game.
will be lucky if we get 15,000 fans to the game, I don't see much reaction out their, hope we don't have to go against the Yankees that night, Hope I am wrong
Been trying to do this for a year or 2 now..... Besides World Soccer Weekly / Big Soccer Radio, not many soccer friendly sports shows on the radio.... We can try to coordinate a blitz on a radio station, but I doubt most of you would be willing to do so....
USSF, MLS, Metrostars should pick up some newspaper ad's and go for it. they have to promote the game, MSG can't do it along,
the Yanx will play game 6 at YS(if nec) 4 hours before the USOC final http://www.international.espn.com/i...03&EndDate=10/31/2003&Network=26&TimeZone=ISR
According to MLB.com: "ALCS Game 6 will move to 8:00 p.m. on October 15 if NLCS is over on or before October 12." So lets hope the NLCS goes 6 or7 games, or the Yanks-Sox series is over in less than 5, otherwise we're stuck with the Yanks at home on Oct. 15th at 8pm.
Go to all the High Schools Soccer coaches, have a a student night for $5.00, and try to get some fans at the game.
