"What a stop that was by Tim Howard!" says the announcer.

78' Kuranyi tries to side step Ferdinand after Neville gave the ball away on the left and Stuttgart go on the attack. Kuranyi has options on both sides, and chooses to turn the centreback instead. It is a rash challenge and in view of what happened at the other end, the referee has no choice but to award the penalty.

Fernando Meira (Stuttgart) missed the penalty saved by the goalkeeper

It'd be great if Timmy could get a Schmeichel-esque equalizer.

In the handful of ManU games I've caught this year, I could swear that in everyone he's had one cross or ck that he's badly misjudged.

Well, crazy end. Forlan hammers a shot which the keeper palms away, corner gets lose in the box, eventually VfB counters, Howard saves from Kiryani, into stoppage time now, there will be, 4 minutes to be added.

And thats the ballgame.....poor defending all day by Man Utd. and a 2-1 scoreline flattered them as the PK was questionable and Howard saved one from VfB.....Horrible result, horrible effort, nothing else to say.

I think what we've had here is a little social concern in BigSoccer. Users have been very desirous that a black goalkeeper do well. There is a little hope invested in Howard, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team.

I just wonder how long Tim Howard has been a black goalkeeper.
