Not sure whether they're going to be in Pot 2 or Pot 3, but if they're in Pot 3, they're going to be the one team everyone wants to avoid from that pot.
According to https://www.eloratings.net/Italy it was the first time that Italy lost by at least 3 goals at home since a 3-0 loss in a Euro Qualifier on 15 October 1983.
Na. Most of our current crop key players are in their late 20's. This was their chance, especially after missing 2022. 2030 will likely be a very different team. The coach lost today's game with very poor formation and failing to bring in fresh players in midfield who are just as capable. In the end we depend too much on Osimehn, so hos injury at half time screwed us. Big part of the reason we started poor in qualifying. I dont think there is a single team in the entire world that depends on their star player more than Nigeria and Osimehn. Not even Norway-Haaland or Croatia-Modric.
Norway will be in Pot 3. Per my own simulations, they tend to end up with one of the hosts or one of Brazil / Argentina given that they are the most likely groups to be without Europeans by time of the Pot 3.
I think the percentage for Germany is too high. They had no good match in the whole qualifiers and were struggling a lot against Luxembourg. They don't create many chances and better teams will punish their mistakes in the back. Goid value for a bet on Slovakia in my opinion.
You know what kills me about Victor, and you can call me a hater, but to me at least, he seems to just never show up in the biggest games for one reason or another. Like either totally invisible or just lackluster in front of goal. DRCs defense is solid and I figured it would've taken a real moment of magic to find another goal which was off a fortunate deflection from Tuanzebe. I looked at Victor's goal tally for Nigeria and they have all come against the whose of who of Africa's minnows. Liberia, Sierra Leone, Central African Republic, Rwanda, but not one against Senegal, CIV, Egypt, Ghana, Cameroon, etc.
Germany has been playing horrible. I mean, relative to their high standards in World Cup qualifying. That said, Slovakia has not really been blowing out the teams in their group either. It might not take the game of their lives to win in Leipzig but they are clear underdogs. I would put it at 75% in Germany's favor.
Germany just need a tie. Slovakia would have to attack to get the win they need, and I believe that will open spaces for Germany to counterattack. Besides, it seems Woltemade is the real deal.
Norway has no chance of making Pot 2. They are to far behind in points. FIFA rankings are retarded, and way too slow to react in a positive or negative fashion. The fact that Belgium or Italy are anywhere near top seeds is pathetic. My ranking system currently has Norway at #19 while FIFA as them 10 places below at #29 https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/alternative-world-rankings-thread.2092151/page-25
After I sent my last post, I remember an old post I made in September: Although both trends are completely independent one of the other, now I am starting to think about the unthinkable: that Germany do not qualify!
We are at half-time and Germany is cruising to victory, beating Slovakia 4-0. The Netherlands are also winning, although only 1-0, but Poland are drawing 1-1. So both are going to qualify. It is just a matter of which game finish first, to determine who qualify first.
Poland has an excellent U21 squad, but their cycle won't end until the 2027 U21 EURO, so too late for the WC unless some are promoted to the national team during this season.
