http://football365.com/All_News/Breaking_News/story_68413.shtml more there (yes its the same story, but football365 gets far more hits than its brother soccer365) DanR- are you cringing? they say - "American 'net-minder' Tim Howard has reached the peak of the game in the MLS as first-choice 'gloveman' for the New York MetroStars and Sir Alex is keen to sign him for £1.2million, reveals the Daily Mirror." ....or is it just when ny/nj is used?
"Tourettes sufferer.." I detect a note of incredulity. MetroFans never give it a thought, but his afliction will be played up in the yellow journals over there. I also think opposing fans will taunt him in a cruel manner not experienced here in the States. But that's football.
If your keeper's moved to England clap your hands...clap clap... I will believe it when he boards the plane, as I don't trust MLS to not botch this one somehow. And I would have liked him to stay until the end of the season so that we would have a serious shot at a title. Also, both he and Nick are denying that anything is serious at this point, per NJ Herald news at http://www.northjersey.com/page.php...lRUV5eTYzODIyOTImeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXk2 If he does indeed leave, it's sad to see him go but I hope he does well over there (except when playing Arsenal of course). And the "tourette's sufferer" headline was a bit harsh, it's not like he's been on a death bed for 2 years only to battle his way back to MLS. I still think he's a year or two away from being ready for EPL action, he's not on the Keller/Friedel level yet, but I wish him the best. <Really digging that DJ Countess trade....>
Maybe Ferguson paid the paper to write that... then when the judge is deciding whether to approve a work permit or not they'll think... "didn't I read somewhere that he married some Hungarian bird?" and ignore the evidence otherwise.
he had neurological disorder (something not too good for a goalie, i guess) ? don't they (Man Utd)have a little worry about it? will this kind of desease be coming back again ? but, i hope not offcourse...anyway, good luck for Tim Howard.
Dude, we're not talking about hay fever or chicken pox. This is a serious disease which does not go away. It only gets worse. Fortunately, medical treatments get better... BTW - read Motherless Brooklyn. It's about a guy with the same disease. Really fun book.
I don't know much about it - but according to the Tourrette's Syndrome Association's webpage symptoms often do get better: 14. Q. Is there ever a remission? A. Many people experience marked improvement in their late teens or early twenties. Most people with TS get better, not worse, as they mature, and those diagnosed with TS have a normal life span. As many as 1/3 of patients experience remission of tic symptoms in adulthood. http://www.tsa-usa.org/
I agree--I'm nervous he won't be able to match the displays of Freidel/Keller and be booed off the pitch.
