Wizards Notebook - K.C. Star World Cup provides Highs, Lows for 2002 - Washington Times Razov's "Tune-up" Essential - Chicago Tribune Fire says It's Farewells to Nowak - Chicago Sun-Times
Wow. The Chicago press is certainly giving Nowak his due....and I don't normally get upset about media stuff. This is all quite unnerving.
season ticket info from the KC Star article: "And, as of Friday, the Wizards had sold 2,468 full-season season-ticket equivalents (FSEs). That's fewer than the 3,416 season tickets the club sold last season and a third of the way toward the goal of 7,316. But there are still roughly four months before the season-opening game.
"Best spokesperson for soccer in America — San Diego midfielder Julie Foudy. She does it intelligently and with a smile." This writer certainly has the pulse of the US Soccer fandom huh Andy
I think you're being rightly sarcastic. The fact that Nowak's trade is only given a one-sentence mention at the end of the Razov article borders on the bizarre.
FWIW, I was under the impression that an anonymous USWNT member made that remark, and for whatever reason, people have chosen to attribute it to Ms. Foudy.
Not on a Friday night in a newsroom when the Fiesta Bowl is going on and the news doesn't break until 5ish. Not that I agree with it, but that's the reality of it all.
We've had this discussion. The quote itself may not be apocryphal, but the assumption that it was made by Foudy has never been proven either.
While mentioning everyone's injuries, the author explained that only Marsch played all 28 games, while Zach sat out one to let Henry Wing get a start. Why do they even bother?
"Last week, the Fire traded 27 year old midfielder Dema Kovalenko to DC United for a draft pick." Len's struggling.
I like the quote by Ray Hudson after being named coach of D.C. United, "This is big, Anna Nicole Smith big."
yeah. its shocking. gosh, i know id be THRILLED to have an old, expensive has been coming to my team...
