Does not look like Hernandez got the start. Is he even on the bench? Some info about his status would be excellent.

No info about his status, but Femexfut and ESPN both confirm that he was not on the bench.

ESPN's pre-game listings had him as a starter, though. Gotta wonder if he's hurt.

Well, Necaxa certainly could have used some better defending last night. Both Santos goals came on crosses into the box where the defender lost his mark and the goals were headed in.

Necaxa did well to come back and tie the game twice (though the second goal may have been an own goal, though if the defender hadn't touched it, a Necaxa player would have certainly scored anyway) but their defending didn't leave much to make one feel secure.

Also, the goalies in this game sucked. You could have taken ANY of the starters in MLS and they would have been an improvement. I'm kinda surprised the Mexican leagues don't look up here for GKs.

Seriously. I would think that just about every team would be happy with the best backups in MLS, and the best backups would be THRILLED at the pay bump.

yes, but guys you have to take into consideration the language barrier. IRRC, I've only heard of either Friedel or Keller playing down in Turkey a while back, and Walker in Chile...
Outside of that, most of our keepers have done the job down in England (in any of its divisions)....Furthermore, Mexican clubs tend to get capable Argentinian, Colombian keepers, at a cheap price I assume, with the added bonus that they can more readily communicate with the backline more easily....BTW, I agree that the GK quality in MLS is a bit better than given credit for (at least in this hemisphere)...probably the only notable exceptions are those clubs in Chile which believed in Walker and his ability

Hmm, interesting. Has anyone been following him? How did he play last year? Has his play merited a call up (from either Mexico or USA)?
