It was just pointed out to me that the Comets have a game on the 17th: Fri Jan 17 8:05pm CST San Diego Sockers I know some of us are coming into town for the SuperDraft, and some Fire fans are on their way, too. It's been a while since MLS wrapped. What's the interest in getting together at Kemper for a game?
According to their Theme Nights listing. Jan 17 is Beach Night Jan 18 is Mardi Gras Night They are playing the San Diego Soccers both nights which just happens to have ex Wizard Paul Wright on board: http://www.sockers.com/players/?id=35 Another player from Wichita (John Beyer)on their roster for some local interest. All American at JCCC and the Attacks #1 draft pick in '97 http://www.sockers.com/players/?id=3
For those going to the Superdraft in KC, some of us will be going to the KC Comets MISL game that evening if it doesn't conflict with any other MLS/Fire/Wizards event that night. I'll be sitting in "midfield box" seats in Section 101. These go for $15 each. To order tix, please call Brad Mann at (816) 474-2255 or e-mail him at bmann@kccomets.com. We don't have an official group going but maybe we can start one.
I could be up for going to my first (new) Comets game, depending upon when my ride to St. Louis is leaving. I never went to an Attack game. And the last original Comets game I went to was probably in 1988.
I'll probably be a game time decision. It really depends on who is at the convention and whether I need to do some shmoozing for the ECG. I have never been to an indoor game - the Comets (ver 1.0) arrived the year I moved from KC.
I'd like to say, "It's a living." Unfortunately it ain't. It's beginning to look like the Comets are a no-go for me on this trip. I am planning on three days in April, hopefully there be some good pre-opener parties or get togethers in KC or Lawrence.
Danger Bob's Clinic Coach Gansler and unnamed WIZ players will be conducting "A Major League Soccer, Player Clinic" at the Convention Center Hall C on Saturday 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. That's all the info the convention schedule contains.
