I think it's cool that in a metter of a few days Stewart has gone from "prospect" (Dallas morning news) to "veteran" (today's post). Looks like DC got a good one.
I'm confused--what did Trecker say this time that got people so riled up? I thought it was a pretty good breakdown of the combine. Or is the thought of bashing Jamie Trecker just a knee-jerk reaction to anything he prints?

Trecker is to the MLS as Graham Jones is to the US Men's National Team. In fact, Trecker is to the USMNT as Graham Jones is to the MLS. I don't care what either of them say about the league or about the USMNT. Both of them dislike American soccer and are happy to point out its "shortcomings" in just about every article they write. I quit reading them long ago, and don't click on links to their articles.
To me, the reaction happened with "a move that all but assures United will trade their top pick." The beat guy for DCU who knows the team much better than Trecker never addresses this. Not that I don't love idle speculation and rumor, but I consider the source. His history has me doubt a lot of what he says.
McBride Article The article on McBride is pretty cool. What's especially nice is that he sounds pumped about coming back for the MLS season, and the reporter didn't dog the league.
