    Wales - Giggsy?

There is no chance that they will score a goal..:D even if Deutschland plays their worst defence..maybe a little harsh on them...
    But Giggs is Giggs...:)

Good lineup, though I would let Jansen and Pander change positions. The former is a better defender.

I think Streit already said that he isn't interested in playing for Germany anymore. At least that was his recent comment after not being nominated for the England match even though there were lots of injuries.

True, here's the article you were probably referring to:

    http://www.faz.net/s/RubBC20E7BC6C2...A3B68AC0F9145D93B0~ATpl~Ecommon~Scontent.html

Streit acts a bit like a prima donna, but he didn't really say that he's no longer interested in playing for Germany. He's got the impression he isn't needed, so he has stopped bothering. That implies: As soon as Löw will change his mind, Streit will do so as well.

Well, yes he's a prima donna. He should just shut up and play some decent games.

I saw this ad tonight on ESPN where they have a 45 second profile on a euro2008 team and this one was germany. It was all good until they showed metzelder in a madrid shirt from his presentation and said : "super striker miroslav klose and with the defence anchored by real madrid defender christoph metzelder". Nearly made me fall out of my seat laughing there.

yeah I watched it. he played very well. him and cannavaro both.

but we all know the only reason he got on that ad was because he plays for madrid. merte is the king of the defence.

    I have 2 small comments:

First, I don't think Schweini will play in the center of the park. I think he will play on the right or the left, depending on whether Pander or Hilbert is chosen.

I think Rolfes will play next to Hitz in the center; he has good defensive qualities and has played well last friday.

And second, I don't think Podolski is fully fit yet. Löw might go with Kuranyi to put the welsh defense under pressure.

But then again Löw changes things so often according to the opponent that you can't be sure. What he did against England was a master stroke; he put Lahm as a defensive midfielder because he has excellent tackling skills, so England won't get too many free kicks.

    ------------------Lehmann-----------------

    Lahm--------Merte--------Metze------Jansen

    ------------Rolfes------Hizlsperger------

    Hilbert-------------------------------Schweini

    --------------Klose---------Kuranyi-----------

probably a different lineup for Romania friendly

He does? When everyone is fit we have a set in stone starting lineup. But I suppose what you mean is that the players are smart enough to adjust to whatever during the game

No, he put lahm there because lahm is a damn good football player.

Metzelder has been very good so far. They had some problems defensively last week against Ahtletico until Metze came in for Cannavaro and then things stabilized and they didn't concede.

This week he started alongside Cannavaro and played a great match. He was one of the contenders for MOTM and a reason they kept a clean sheet. He could be the difference in Madrid finally stabilizing their weak defense.

This game won't be as easy as some of you may think.

I'd be very contented with a 1:0 away win in Cardiff!

It appears that the game will not be televised in the US. I wonder why nobody picked it up.

I'm with you there. It will be tougher than the england game, but I think we will win 2-0.

I second that. Wales is a confident and compact team with good display in the last games. I think we should not underestimate them. The Dragons can give us a bad surprise.

It looks like Lahm and Schweini will be the duo in the center. This also means there's room for Pander in the starting lineup.
