Question for Quakes supporters, has Convey even looked like he deserves a call up? I've only seen him play twice this season, but he looked pretty far from international form. That said, I'd like the opinion of someone who has seen him play more than twice.

That's partially because people who are loudmouthed about the thing tend to distort the conversation. Notice how the comments even on this poll don't reflect the poll results. That's because people who comment are a self-selecting sample, and they often have some kind of axe to grind. Major League Soccer is a serious upgrade on AAA baseball, and the people who don't have an axe to grind can usually see that.

nah, he hasn't looked that good. he has short bursts of quality, but it usually doesn't come to anything. To be fair to him, theres a better player in his natural position. Yallop keeps trying to play him in the middle and he has not shown that he can play there.

No, but he hasn't played in a position where most Quakes fans thought he could do well in very many games. Huckerby will have the l-mid spot when healthy. And Convey hasn't played the 2nd best position for him, left back, much either.
But you can tune in tonight and watch him play left mid and see what you think as Huckerby is expected to be out to the ongoing injury. Although he will be playing with Corrales as left back, which is his first time at this position this year so no playing partnership aspect will really be there.
At the left mid position, yes we've certainly seen moments that suggest Covey's as good as most of the B team call ups for Gold Cup. But it's hard to judge without any consistency of playing him there.

Playing him in the middle or at r-mid make him look pretty awful and nowhere near the nats pool.
