I'd like to see the hot Galaxy win, but with a lot of jetlagged players, this may be a snoozer and end up in a draw.

Is Hartman out for sure with his thigh injury? If we couldn't set things up in the midfield against the Metros B team, imagine how hard it'll be against their A team.

Maybe that meter maid will show up to the game.

Maybe the Meter-Maid could play in goal. Actually, Potluck was not too bad last week.

I disagree about the "snoozer" of a game. I saw trouble brewing coming into the game last Saturday because there was nothing to play for. This team needs a little kick in the pants to get going and last week they had nothing.

Now, we might lose 1st place to the Wizards (imagine that) and more importantly, we want revenge.

And most importantly, welcome back Barracuda. Does he really have a mohawk?

So, what does Sigi change from Saturday?

Obviously, Kirovski starts- he should be fresh after riding the pine this Sunday. But does El Barricudito start or come in off the bench? That was his first game after a long lay-off with only three days to recover. And is Moreno given one more shot to prove that his early success while Ruiz was gone wasn't just a fluke?

Is Herzog ready to go on short rest? We turn around and fly back out to Chicago after this game to play the Fire on Sunday. Should this be a game where Herzog gets rested and Grabavoy gets a chance to run the show? Or Kirovsky?

And are Hartman and Marshall ready to go?

So many questions, so little time until we find out what the answers are...

    "El Barricudito"?? I like it.

    Thanks for the pics Taco.

Of course, it's a sad day when your National team has a girl in the starting 11...hehe.

I think El Barricudito comes in as a sub...to much applause.

Sigi is so in love with Herzog that there's no way Herzog doesn't start.

By the way, what was Wynalda's problem with Suarez last game? He was insinuating that Suarez was an injury-faker?? Did he get Suarez and Ruiz mixed up?

Per lagalaxy.com, here's our injury list:

Peter Vagenas - strained right groin - out
Tyrone Marshall - sprained left MCL - doubtful
Danny Califf - sprained right MCL - probable
Kevin Hartman - left quadriceps contusion - probable
Carlos Ruiz - sprained right ankle - probable

carlos starts. he's a professional and while injured i'm sure was keeping up on his cardio levels. his match fitness i think is more a question of ring rust; based on sundays result i'll take a rusty carlos over moreno.

This should be a break-out game with Ruiz back.

Okay, who partners up with Ruiz then? Kiro, Whoopi or Moreno? I'd say Kiro.

If Califf is probable for this match, do we start him or not? If not, will it be Suarez or Aloisi in his place? I figure Albright and Bo will be set in their positions. And do we start Lewis or Broome at LB? I've this feeling that we'll see a surprise start for Broome this Wed. night.

yeah i think kiro should start with ruiz. i hate to say it, but i think moreno flatters to deceive. after his break out month (and much credit to him we needed that) he has failed to make an impact on games the way ruiz does.

having said that, put in ruiz and he gets two defenders on him, so maybe moreno with less attention adds to his tally. throw in kiro for either one if ruiz can't make the 90 for some reason or moreno is having little impact.

The lineup I would love to see in this match.

Hartman - assuming he is ready.

    Albright - Califf - Saurez - Marshall

    Cobi - Saragosa - Grabavoy - Herzog

    Kirovsky - Ruiz

Although Moreno had a couple of good matches, I feel it bacame obvious he is not a 90 minute player. In my opinion outside of the 18 yard box, Moreno is ordinary at best. His lack of speed, tendancy to hold the ball to long and going down with the slightest contact are big factors in this opinion.

The last few weeks, the midfield is once again being dominated. Saragosa has fallen off a bit. Personaly I think Saragosa fall off is as a result of the revolving lineup in the back 4, a completely useless Victorine playing beside and/or in front of him, and Herzog disappearing. Herzog constantly drifts out to the left leaving no playmaker nor any defensive support in the middle. Victorine just plain S**KS and is only keeping more talented players with far more potential from getting playing time. Move Herzog out to the left where he is comfortable. Bring in Grabavoy who has shown he has playmaking abilities. In addition Grabavoy lessens the defensive burden on Saragosa.

Marshall's health is the key to the back line. With him as the left back, this will lessen the defensive burden on Herzog so that he can paly the full 90. Califf should once again settle down the back 4. Albright and Saurez have been steady and reliable with flashes of brilliance.

This leaves as substitute options. Ngwenya with a fresh set of legs to run at tired defenders. Moreno up top, with Kiriovsky dropping back and Grabavoy moving left if Herzog tires. Playing time for other young players Gardner, Aloisi and Gonzales.

Wynalda's and idiot. Suarez took one in the family jewels, that's why he went down. Wynalda either didn't see it, or because he has no nuts, didn't think it was a big deal.

Hehehe. I think you got it right there.

By the way, I think the above post HAS IT RIGHT. That lineup takes us to the championship. Ngwenya comes on as a sub. And maybe Sasha as a sub (when other players are tired).

With Marshall out for a while longer, I don't think we get to full strength for at least another week.

Kev will be starting as will Fish and Kiro (see this mornings quotes from Sigi on my blog)

I like Ned but I still think Sasha has that spot.

Oh, and don't forget that Gaven is playing out of his skin right now. He scored the goal of the week, and I can say that with 4 games coming on the weekend.

Disgusting. This ends any notion of being superior to the rest of the league. Quite embarassing, and a serious dent in the prospects for the rest of the season.

    My player by player analysis:

    Hartman: sucked. was he hung-over?
Broome: sucked, made me long for EZ
Califf: sucked (but gets a pass, except for the mini-mohawk, which sucked)
Suarez: sucked, real bad. Bring on Bo bad.
Lewis: sucked. But that's nothing new.
    Saragosa: sucked Brazilian style
Herzog: sucked. Ich van das sucko.
Cobi: sucked. Ran hard as always, but sucked at running.
Grabavoy: sucked a "little" get it...?
Sasha: Do I even have to comment? sucked
Ngwenya: sucked. Enough already. Turn with the ball and take the tackle!
Ruiz: sucked. His mini-mohawk battled with Califf's for suckiness.
Vagenas: sucked even from the bench. his suckiness oozed out onto the pitch, that's how much he sucked.

and the Suck-Award goes to!! Kirovski! Who sucked so much that Bruce Arena's kid's a$$ could run around on the field and be a better striker.

And, get this, the only one who didn't suck was Sigi. I thought he had a good lineup on the field and stuck all 4 of our strikers out there at the end, which was gutsy. Which didn't work. So I suck too.
