We win 4-1. LA goals by Victorine, Jolley (OG), & two by Kiro (1 as a PK) and Dallas goal by O'Brien. 18,460 in attendance. I suppose that's not too bad despite that the Lakers were playing at the same time & most of SoCal was probably watching that.

I'll bet the 1st Kiro goals gets change to another Jolley own goal. If not it really should. Nice to see the G put together a complete game from beginning to end no lapses at all.

'cept Bo letting O'Brien spin him like a top and thus costing LA the clean sheet.

Otherwise, a very solid, dominating game. Bo and Suarez totally shutdown Kreis and Johnson and everyone else played good help D. (It helped that Dallas, for some reason, chose to go without a playmaker in central mid.)

Ten goals in three games without Ruiz - yeah, LA is really missing Pescadito!

    My worthless thoughts:

Bo-Thanks for screwing up Hartman's clean-sheet. Actually, played a fairly good game, but it seems he's got to get juked out of his shorts at least once each game...

Hartman-Is it in his contract that once a game he has to make a frickin' sick save? O'Brien couldn't believe it. But I can. See it about once a week for thirty weeks every year.

Kirovski-Should get credit for that first goal. Jolley toe-poked it, but the ball was going to go into the net. If it was going wide or high, etc., then, yeah, it's an OG, but just because Jolley tried to clear it and re-directed it doesn't automatically make it an own-goal. Not a bad game by Kiro after missing two with an injury...

Ngwenya-Did exactly what he was suppose to do-punish the Burn for pushing up late in the game and allowing him to get behind their D.

Victorine-Well, for better or worse, no way he's going to the bench. This is what's so frustrating about Sasha. He'll play well (he also did really well in the opening game) for a time, securing his spot on the field, then he'll coast for a couple games and get all the bigsoccer gang in an uproar. Let's see him build on this game and continue to actually earn his starts.

Suarez-Nice rebound from last Saturday's fiasco.

Herzog-If he can last the season...oh boy.

Saragosa-Have I mentioned I really like this kid?

Albright-He's my MOTM. Although he didn't get an assist today, this was by far his most complete game as a right back. This experiment is going to pay off big time...

    Memo-Hey, he's still alive.

Rest of the gang-overall good game by all. Stifled almost all of Dallas' chances, held possession slightly better than the last couple of games, and created a lot of exciting, attacking play. (although Lewis had several bad turnovers-but Broome makes me just as nervous-maybe when Califf and Marshall come back, Suarez could slide out there?)

I must say though, that frankly, it's embarrassing how dependent we are on Carlos Ruiz to generate our offense. We've only scored 11 goals since he left the field injured. I think we can do better...

I believe that Victorine actually had 2, count 'em, 2 goals. Kiro's resulted from the Jolley OG and the PK. Typical Victorine...the guy disappears for several games straight, then pops up to remind everyone that he is here. Going by history, Victorine disappears again now for 3 to 4 games.

Yeah, if Victorine has to have 3 sucky games from here, and Sigi has to start him, maybe he can be subbed out in the 10th second of the next three matches.

I missed the game. Any-who I can watch it?

I saw the highlights. Looks like we kick-assed. Or did Dallas just suck that bad?

What does Grabavoy have to do to get some consistent playing time. He seems to play well, and be rewarded with a full game on the bench. ????

It's good to see us not let up against weaker opposition. Now if we can just bring the goods against the tough stuff.
Still I like the vibe on the team this year. We're clicking on more than one cylinder (Ruiz) and that bodes well for the rest of the season.

Wow Dallas is a horrible team. They had absolutely no midfield play. Steve Jolley- Galaxy MVP of the match. He had two own goals depsite the offical scorer saying otherwise. Bad errors by him on both.

The Galaxy didn't look too bad, the new players have been a benefit this season for sure. But how will they do against a better opponent than Dallas?

How was the attendance 18,000+? On TV it looked like the stadium was half empty? Looks like they are padding the attendance!

They always count all the season ticket holders as part of the attendance, thus inflating it. But, if attendance only matters because of teh money it generates, I guess they are allowed to do that eh....

Cause what you typically see on TV is the highest priced seats which go last. I couldn't pull myself off the beach last nite to get to the game, but the end line and corner sections looked full on TV.

I'm a Dallas fan, and even more a US fan. So while I'm disappointed in the Burn's showing, I'm encouraged by Allbright's play. I've been a detractor of his in the past, but from what I saw last night, his dominance of the right side of the field is something the US needs badly.

Props to Chris Allbright for his hard work- I hope Bruce gives him a few more looks with the full team in the qualies. Believe me, 6 months ago, I never would have believed I'd be saying this.

After viewing the tape, Victorine only had one with that header for the 1st goal of the match. The 2nd one you may be talking about it was where Jolley climbed all over Victorine to head the ball but instead of clearing it, he put it into the net. Further viewing showed that Jolley last touched the ball for LA's 3rd goal (but credited to Kiro), thus Jolley should be the Galaxy's MOTM for two own goals. He used to play for us & still can't get it out of his system. ;)

18K+ sure looked small, but occasionally I could hear the Riot Squad. Good job, despite the low numbers.

Only got to watch the 2nd half...

Except for O'brien, Dallas was really weak.

I was kinda dissapointed that Ngwenya didn't take the PK since the game was already in hand. I think he deserved it.

Herzog. What a pick up. That has Klinsman written all over it.

The third goal was all Kiro. That ball was destined for the back of the net either way. Poor Jolley. and poor Dallas. Goes to show that you can't just start from scratch in this league and put together a winning team...no matter how good a coach you have.

    Re: HERZOG

I heard it WAS all Klinsman. He essentially brought Herzog over.

Question: does Herzog speak German? Austrian? English? I thought Austrians spoke German but...I'm American...which means I don't know crap about anything outside da borders, dude, totally. Yet, Da Governator is Austrian and speaks German. Da?

I guess you're right, rok. The guy on the mic at the stadium announced that Victorine had scored two, but it looks like Jolley was the man on the second. LARS did okay in the second half, but sufers from poor opponentitis, which goes to show that the group needs to focus on more (and longer) material supporting the G's and less hate and discontent toward the opposition...unless it's San Jo.

Yeah it was destined to go in regardless if Jolley tried to clear it, but my point is that Jolley touched it last according to replays, thus he should be MOTM for 2 OGs, not I'm trying to take anything away from Kiro.

Okay, you win. But only because you are from the OC and therefore better than anyone else...hehehe

    Thanks, I think...;)

About Bo getting burned: what else would you expect from an old dude defending against a quicker, younger player? Yet he turned his back to the player again!

And Herzog likely speaks very good English also as that's very, very common in Germany and Austria. Especially with his age group and younger.

Injury report for this week lists Grabavoy as "questionable" with a foot contusion. If he picked that up before the game on Saturday, it might help explain why he rode the pine and didn't get into the game.

Although Victorine scored a goal (and some might argue 2), I really do not think he played all that well. I mean although goals are great. However, his passing seemed to either go backwards, out of touch or to Dallas. Of course he still played lazy defense. By the way, does anyone know why Victorine will point to a player that requires marking and than run away from him.

The bottom line is, that I believe that irregardless of whether Victorine plays a strong match or he regular horrendous match, Sigi will play his Golden Boy for the full 90 at the expense of more deserving players.

This is by far and away my biggest critique of Sigi. All in all, I think he is going a fine job this season, but he still seems to be unable (unwilling???) to make changes that he is not forced into.

After all would Saragosa be starting had Vagenas not gotten injured. Would Grabavoy ever saw the field had Victorine not gotten injured. Would Ngwenya ever seen time at forward had Ruiz not gotten injured. Who needs to get injured for Gardner to get a chance to see playing time. I am sure there are other examples I am missing.

With all that said... we are in first... and that is a GREAT thing.
