    Birchall's Galaxy Bar
    - The Argus
Albion chairman Dick Knight has accused David Beckham’s American club of a lack of respect in their pursuit of [T&T international] Chris Birchall. The Seagulls are refusing to let Birchall link up with LA Galaxy until the season is over.

They want to hold on to the Trinidad and Tobago midfielder for the rest of their relegation battle and say there has been no direct contact from Galaxy, although Birchall’s agent claims he has been verbally offered a contract by the MLS club. Knight said: “Chris is our most experienced midfielder, he’s an international and we need him here. If we were mid-table then probably we would let Chris go. But Galaxy haven’t respected our relegation battle and haven’t bothered to make direct contact."

I don't know how Birchall will do in MLS but T&T seemed to lose a lot of their organization when they took him out against the US. He does seem rather slow, so he'll certainly fit the Galaxy mold under Arena.

seriously, MLS keeps taking money for new franchises and yet they cut the reserve division.

While the quality of the competition is certainly up for debate, canales' claim that players can't find minutes at all is surprising. There are tons of university and USL teams to play friendly matches.

I think DCU has put 23 of the 24 rostered players in the match day 18 already. I think anyone who has any talent will get some PT this year.
