Just did my deposit for my season tickets. I got the upper deck for 470.00. I think I might have to break the news to the little lady. If I don't post in two weeks, please call the cops.

Good luck with the new stadium.

    --

I can't see how all 20 tickets will be at the new stadium if it doesn't open until June.

Agreed - this is a mystery that has not yet been explained. Quite frankly, I do not think LAG know yet how many games will be at Victoria Street and whether there will be early season home games at some other venue (Rose Bowl, Fullerton) or whether they will be road warriors for a couple of months. All dependent on when construction actually is completed and passes inspection for licensing etc.

Jury's still out for me. I wonder if they will have mini-season deals? And I still do wonder where RS is gonna stand?

Yikes, that's a huge chunk past the $450 for 18 games (no Cup) I pay for two seats second row center. Enjoy your new digs.

Does anyone feel the increase in cost is in proportion to the number of games we will have at the new stadium? How can they justify such an increase when the stadium won't be used for the first half of the year? And that is only if it is finished on time!

My tickets are jumping from $270 to $650 when I'll be occupying the EXACT same space at the Rose Bowl for the first half of the season. How does that work again?

While this is somewhat of a significant jump, it's not as bad as some of us thought. I had a ten-game pack in section 4 this year, so upper deck won't be much of a jump per game, and the distance from the pitch might be very silmilar.

Also, I don't think they'll have trouble coming up with games to fill out 20. The stadium will be done sooner than we think and I bet that only 2 or 3 games (plus July 4th) will be at Titan/RB. Plus, add playoffs (4 max), probably the All-Star game (although they haven't said for sure), at least one CONCACAF Champions Cup match (we've already qualified), Open Cup, plus you know they'll have a few friendlies (since I believe Uncle Phil's deal with Chivas starts next year, and there's the rumors of ManU coming to LA next year), and 20 tix won't be enough!

We (MLS supporters) beg and plead for SSS but when we get them we b!tch about the ticket prices. I'm trying NOT to pick a fight but do you want a stadium or not?

I'm thrilled for everyone in and around LA and Victoria Street will be the new crown jewel of MLS. As a past Columbus season ticket holder I think your prices are reasonable considering what you are getting.

    Reasonable?
    How???

It's triple what you'd paid for the same tickets in Columbus' soccer specific stadium. Same type of place, just different location...

Just cause it's LA doesn't mean we all have money trees in the backyard to pay off the stadium. I thought that's what Home Depot was gonna do with naming rights? Or does management feel us Galaxy Fans can be fleeced so easily with a "new fangeled stadium"???

    ?

Have you ever been to Crew Stadium? Have you at least seen pictures of it? It's pretty plain. The basics are taken care of but that's about it. Based on the conceptual drawings I've seen for Victoria Street, what LA is getting will be a vastly improved product over Crew Stadium.

Let me put it this way... When I go to Disneyworld I look at the prices and think, "What the F*@K?!" But at the end of the day I had a great time and come away feeling that my money was well spent. Hopefully you guys will have that same change of heart.

Look, they are testing the market. Its always easier to set a high price and then, (if you need to) you can come up with all kinds of promotional discounts. LAG just does not really know what the demand will be and how much buzz they can generate with Victoria Street. If the demand supports the price structure, good for them. If not, and they don't see ticket sales, they will adjust.

If this doesn't work out, then MLS is doomed. Before complaining about being "fleeced" maybe we can wait for Anschutz to make $1 profit???

You have a first class MAJOR LEAGUE stadium and will probably always have a good team. You're getting you money's worth. $370 for 20 or so tickets including the championship game is still a great deal. If you can't afford it, you don't need to go to EVERY game. Most people don't

    Re: ?

I have been to Crew Stadium and I think it's great. I would have no problem with a carbon copy here in LA.

Maybe what you and the FO has lost sight of is the fact that the average soccer fan in LA isn't the same as the average Lakers fans in LA. With the additional onus of moving a large distance from a fan base that they have "worked on" for the past 7 years, they are raising the prices by a large degree.

The Rose Bowl costs us $100,000 every time we play in it. Additionally we don't get concessions, parking, and only a percentage of the mechandise sales. Why is it then that the prices would go up to the degree that they are proposing when they will add several more revenue streams?

The cost of the staduim isn't something that is paid up front. Business laws and tax breaks allow you to write off loses such as this and amortise them for several years. Again, this should allow them to be able to not gouge fans as deeply as they propose to.

My personal increase is over double for equivalent seats. I may personally be able to afford that, but what of the families that currently enjoy the games? Dad has to shell out $2560 instead of $1120??? Fat chance.

I assume the FO is thinking that all the Orange County kids are going to drive up for the games with daddy's money in their pockets. I'm not sure how many of them we're going to see driving in the BMWs thru Compton to watch games, but it'll be intereseting to see.

I from Orange County and I sure as hell don't drive a BMW and I am not well off. I could save enough for behind-the-goal seats, but that's all I am paying for. I'm still waiting to see if I can make a commitment because of other personal life plans.

I think they're overcharging and confusing their market.

First, no one knows how many games will actually be happening at Victoria.

Two, they're more than doubling their prices. What? Are they signing Owen too?

Three, they've built up a core in and around Pasadena, but how many will follow to Carson? When I was at the RB a month or so ago I met an older gentlemen at halftime who said he was a season ticket holder but wouldn't be going to many games at the new stadium because it was "too far away." When he said it I got a bad feeling in my stomach.

I'm hoping they'll have a mini-season ticket plan for my occasional trips up from San Diego...and also that it won't be quite so expensive.

I'm sure some of the San Gabriel/San Fernando Valley followings will be replaced by South Bay and O.C. followings

    Re: Re: ?

I'm sure you'll think very differently after watching a match at the new stadium. I've been to Pac Bell Park in Frisco and Edison Field and Pac Bell blows Edison away, and Edison is a great park.

    Plus, we'll have a roof.
