    am impressed by 4-4-2 diamond FCA is currently playing vs Leipzing. the front 3 are pressing well while they switch to 4-1-3-2/5-3-2 as defensive formation.

    as they ran out of steam some big holes opened up but they were finding a lot of space for sure.

    agreed but this is the best they have looked all season imo. the balance from front to back is just about right considering the players of FCA. if FCA stick to this tactic/formation... should be good news for Ji DW too as he can play multiple position.

    One could easily see ji coming on for caiuby in this shape but ji seems so missing right now. I know he had a lot of minor problems but weird to not hear anything about his missing status.

    I was thinking Ji for Greg tbh or perhaps for Fin... Cordova is probably a like for like replacement now for Caiuby.

    edit - lol, Khedira.. practically staying at the back. closer to 5-3-2 now w/ Leipzig dominating possession..

    I dont expect Ji to play for a while. Maybe he'll get a chance as a sub one day.
    Also the players seem to understand Baum's ideas better than last year. Imo the performances are better than last year.

    Is there a hint of an explanation as to Ji's continued absence from match lineups?

    not good enough in the coach's eye + they want to invest in youth (Cordova, Thommy)

    Also, last season Finnbogason and Caiuby were mostly injured. That's why he was a starter. Now they've signed 3 more offensive players (Gregoritsch, Heller and Cordova). So for now, there's no place for him. Whether they are better than him or not is another question.

    How Ji was called for the national team is beyond me. You could call up Park Joo Ho as well if you call up Ji

    Why? He played in every game last season for FCA. Also, can you think of other options who can play the role of all-around FW/lone CF for Korea? I can't.. tbh...especially if you exclude K League (not that there are better options in K league too).

    Hwang HC - injured & different type of player (similar to Son)
    Suk HJ - umm, if we are to go by "deserving based on mins played for club".. the guy hasn't done anything for the past 1 and 1/2 year
    Hwang UJ - :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

    Ji missed most of preseason and with results going well, hard to walk back into squad even if the attack isn’t super convincing.
