Let's start this new thread with a win in Eindhoven :D. I've a hunch though that FdB will be satisfied with a draw.

As long as we defend properly we will do OK. I think we will really miss Sulejmani for his work ethic in this match.

Oooph 6:30am. I'm going to try and wake up for it but I'll have the ESPN3 replay worst case scenario.

Definitely. He's made himself a crowd favorite as well with his work ethic and outstanding behavior. He's another one of those players that doesn't cheat or complain. He said he was inspired by his countryman Novak Djokovic.

That's a hamstring injury for the Dane. Out for a long time I think. Maybe 2 months, but I'm no specialist.

Stek yesterday, Drogba earlier and there are more knock out cases in the first competition rounds this season. Weird.

edit: hope he is oke, this looks serious.

Best of luck to Tyton seems pretty serious...Kicked in the face by his own player. What can you do?

That's two days in a row now that I've seen a player being carried off the field like that (same happened at the Sooners-Florida game yesterday). Wtf?!

Have a feeling the PSV defenders were on two thoughts, with Boerrigter on the ground.

They all turned off and Sigi kept going. Scrappy goal with a bit of luck but I'll take it. We don't deserve to be even going into the half.

We should have won this one.
We have so much more quality than this psv team
Normally I can live with a 2-2 away in Eindhoven, but this time it just sucks.
We went to play along with their level.
    Lost 2 points today.

After the way these two halves started I'll take 1 point from this match and run. We just robbed PSV of two HUGE points.

PSV played us off the pitch for the majority of the game. We created a few good chances but the only reason we came away with a point is because Vermeer pulled off a huge save on Matavz. It's disappointing the way we performed but in the end I'm happy with a draw here.

We steal points in a poorly officiated (and poorly played by Ajax) match. I haven't seen so much hacking go uncarded in a Dutch match in some time. Vermeer is the MOTM coming up big when the defense utterly failed him. Sulejmani was sorely missed in this match as it forced a makeshift lineup and forcing Eriksen to go out on the right wing on a number of occasions. Other than the obstruction call (which is given every time), van der Wiel had a good match and was the prime outlet down the right side. Alderweireld and Vertonghen were sound even as the midfield and the left flank (once Blind had to come into the match) were constantly being overrun. Boilesen was OK until he had to be stretchered off and is probably out for a good bit of time. Anita did well after moving over but was caught by surprise in the opening 10 minutes by the high PSV pressure. Janssen is static and a liability on the field. de Jong had his usual non-event match. Eriksen is the lone midfielder with any ball skills and gets overplayed by the opposition limiting his talent; had a nice opportunity to score near the end. Enoh was decent enough coming on and only committed one tacky foul (unusual for him). Boerrigter had the responsibility in the absence of Mickey of carrying most of the attack which seemed centered down the left side but was pretty well contained. Sigthorsson and Bulykin both got goals when they were needed. I have no comment on Blind who really shouldn't be on the squad.

FdB really has to figure out what to do with the midfield. The trio of de Jong, Janssen and Eriksen does not work as Eriksen has no help at all and gets overplayed. There needs to be another on the ball quick player out there. It is time to give Lodeiro a chance to see what he can do otherwise it's a waste of money to keep him around.

I hope Anita's knock is only minor and that Boilesen makes as quick a recovery as Van der Vaart did.

Played us off the pitch, are you kidding me?

They only started like raging bulls.
We should have finished some chances and they would be done.
Their defense was actually non-existing. They got some nice (counter) attacks that resulted in chances we normally never give away.
We downgraded ourselves to their level, we should have beaten them.

It was entertaining, but the level was low, and I think that's their max, and not ours. That's why I'm a bit disappointed.

The majority of our possession today was side passes in our backfield and then backwards to Vermeer who was under pressure all day. We had a few good moments in the game but they were few and far between. PSV's best chances came on the counter but it was their pressing that was forcing Ajax into giving up the ball over and over.

All I know is that PSV should have gone up 3-1 if Vermeer doesn't make that incredible save on Matavz. I don't remember us having any decisive scoring opportunities like that.
