Just reported by the Guardian -- Euro 2020 postponed until 2021, aim is to try to finish Champions League and UEFA club competitions this year.

 

It was a helluva goal!

 

That was the obvious conclusion, the real question if Uefa competitions and all national leagues will really be finished this season...

 

So far, my family and friends in Italy are all good, but at least the ones of you who can do that, stay at home as much as you can.

 

The hamstring carnage when the various leagues come back is going to be epic. I was watching a vid Oneil Fisher posted of him doing hill sprints on top of some parking garage made me think that there's no way these guys can maintain game fitness at home all the leagues are going to be in a hurry to restart.

My mortal enemy!!!!! The man hates me and I hate him, have since high school and we played in a tournament in Oneonta against each other.

 

Instead of LBJ, you could have written LeBJ, but that sounds like a French word for oral sex.

 

When I was in college, many years ago, I worked at a gas station during the summer. They had mechanics on duty, too, and three service bays.

One of the service bays had in letters above the door "Lubrication", except that the first and last letters had fallen off.

We were trying to imagine what kind of sex-act might transpire if we asked an Italian hooker for "ubricatio."

 

MLS extended its stop till May 10. Honestly, I'd be shocked if there will be a season at all this year. Or at least till the fall (in which case it could really move to a fall to summer season)...

In the meantime, bcs of coronavirus, my job is sending everybody home tomorrow, except me and a new collegue. But it's a temporary fix, we will last another 3 to 6 months max. and after that we are closing.
I'll need to find something else in the next months, but I wasn't planning to stay in the US beyond the end of 2021 anyway, so this may just be a sign of the destiny.

Fun fact: while my wife and I were in Italy last summer we often drove around the Tuscan countryside. In particular, we would drive to sites around Lake Massaciuccoli which has a nature preserve, the ruins of an Roman villa originally owned by the family that ran the brickworks in Pisa and Puccini's house in Torre del Lago. On one our trips in the area we went down a country road that also entered an area full of distribution warehouses serviced by long distance truckers. As we drove through the open country, my wife commented on the various women under umbrellas "just waiting for the bus." I said I don't think that's what they're waiting for. So, internet sleuth that I am, I found a website that identified the actual field locations for prostitutes in Tuscany (don't ask me how I found this). Sure enough, the women under those umbrellas were the local prostitutes waiting for passing business. Apparently in Italy prostitution is not illegal nor is it legal. Instead it is in this gray zone and outside of major urban areas, the women tend to operate on the sides of the road sitting in chairs waiting for passers by.

Of course this shows how the enforced hiatus is going. Instead of talking about Olsen's latest tactical missteps, we're discussing Italian prostitution.

 

Now, of course, these Italian prostitutes will be waiting a very long time, as passers by are in short supply. Another small business impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak.

 

You'd be surprised. A lot of people are still around, too many, and that is why contagion numbers are skyrocketing, as well as deaths. They are about to militarize everything, they have already started in some areas.
