I honestly would not be upset if they were added to the ownership group and I've hated them since Full House.
Playing for Stockport County in the National League (5th Tier of English football), so he's a perfect fit and the FO can recycle all the Rooney merch and make Kamara give up his number. Easy peasy.
And this is what DC United (and other MLS teams) were trying to avoid in shuttling bottom of the roster players back and forth between the parent club and their USL club. Great ......... at least they are testing (I assume that's how they found it/them). That's always the hardest game for me; I love both teams, but I have loved Charleston much longer.
Hate to say this, but I’ve been waiting for the other shoe to drop . . . I’m afraid that this is just the beginning.
Didn't we acquire Yordy Reyna from the Whitecaps a few weeks ago? He's still not shown on our roster.
D.C. United Coach Ben Olsen sitting on a ‘scalding-hot seat’ - The Washington Post #dcu #mls https://t.co/gqAoj2WRrn— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) September 26, 2020 the soccer gods might be coming to the district
In his most recent article, Goff says Olsen panned his starters (for the Nashville match), calling them "a bunch of frauds." Wow. I expect to see some newish faces in the starting lineup. If he goes with his Nashville starters after what he called them, do you think they would respond by (1) playing their hearts out, or (2) packing it in and demanding either a trade or a new coach?
The awful match against Nashville wasn't an anomoly. We've seen that sort of garabage countless times over the years. Nashville may have been the worst, but not by much.
Former USMNT player Aaron Johannson is finally healthy and tearing it up with Hammarby in Swedem - six goals in his last five matches. As a US citizen he wouldn't take up an int'l slot. Let's snag him - I'm sure he would want to come here and turn this team around, right? Right?
Yow, Nyeman, Paredes (who didn't play tonight), Arriola, Pines, Sorga, Abu, Reyna, Odoi-Atsem, Fisher & the goalies I would keep. I would get rid of everyone else. Olsen needs to be a greeter at Gate A, and Chad Ashton needs to be shitcanned. I think Fat Zach probably needs to go, too.
Do not underestimate the relationship he's got with Hamid. I've heard more than once that Bill is a head case, which for a goalkeeper, isn't uncommon. But he's coached Bill to far more positive results than negative. Ding Bill for his foot skills if you want, but there is no better shot stopper in the league and I'd go as far as to say he could start for a lot of top tier European sides with his shot stopping ability. I am not trying to sell foot skills short, but they are over emphasized by too many teams at the moment because of the success of a relatively tiny group of keepers who have them.
I have no clue as to what kind of relationship Bill and Zach may have. I only know that he was playing better when Pat Onstead was GK coach here. I'm thinking there must be a better GK coach than Zach, somewhere.
No, that's why my fervent desire is for our ersatz owner/operators to sell to someone who not only has the money, but who wants to have an excellent team, as well.
