Arda is better than Paz. Loaning out a player who has already proven himself on the highest level is stupid.
Hahaha guys. I do not support the idea either. I was just talking about it with a friend who suggested it, so I wanted to check if I am being biased. I supported him here very often and see the player. The main argument still is that Arda needs to be a regular starter. We already had these discussions earlier this season after his strong start (wether Jude should play ahead of Arda).
Unless Arda insists on leaving I would definitely keep him. This season he has been useful in different positions and ended up starting far more often than most people expected. He even started in games alongside Bellingham, Valverde and Tchouameni. So it is possible to find room for him. With Paz and Endrick returning it remains to be seen how Arda will fit in. But right now he is ahead of them.
To me Arda is not transferable. He is our smartest midfielder by far, and has the necessary personality imo to be a Real Madrid player. He still has room to improve but the quality and attitude is there. Not saying he's an indisputable starter, but he's one of our best assets by far.

To be honest, I haven't seen much progress in his game since we got him. By all accounts he is a willing learner, so its not the Camavinga syndrome. But I don't think his mind is as quick as it needs to be when it comes to making decisions. Between that and his average athleticism, what he has is an elite shot and elite cross, which in the right system can be very useful. He also has a very accurate through ball, as long as the decision is straightforward. This can also be very useful for a counterattacking team as we saw in the previous season with Mbappe starting his runs at half the pitch. So if you make him a crucial piece, he can deliver some goods, even though the cost is not small given his physical shortcomings to be a two way player. But I honestly expected more development in terms of intelligent movement and creative decision making in the past two years. If someone offers big money for him, given that Bellingham is here to stay, I'd be quite tempted.
He's a 21 year old that was given a leadership role for his country. Personally i think he's an incredible talent.
In that shitty season, he has better stats in both the CL and La Liga than almost anyone else at the age of 21. His best games were against top teams like Juventus, Man City and Bayern (both games). He didn’t even play the season before. I don’t know what more you expected him to do as a midfielder in this season.
It's most likely the firing of Xabi but when Guler was dropped Mbappe's form dropped as well. Those two have a special connection like Ozil and Cristiano did. We can't fail this kid again but hard decisions will have to be made.
I wasnt talking about stats, I was talking about his game. I thought I stated clearly what more I expected. Stats can be deceiving as Mbappe shows. Ultimately he is an asset and we need to make a decision whether we cash in that asset and strengthen areas that are our weakness, or do we make him a centerpiece and cater the lineups and tactics to get the most out of him, which also involves significant roster chopping. I was thrilled when we signed him because hes a fantastic talent and it was evidence of some forward thinking. But hes also flawed as every youngster, and I havent seen these flaws addressed in the time he's been here.

Compared to when he first joined, he has also improved significantly even in these areas. His greatest strength is making the decisive, killer pass in counterattacking situations, as you already mentioned. He has often reacted quickly and initiated new, creative moves. Precise long balls, quick one-twos in tight spaces, crosses, deadly through balls, incredible vision, a great shot, and individual decisions adapted to the specific match situation all show the range of his game. I know you did not doubt this, but like I said, he has become more precise and more secure in his approach. These are all attributes that even Thierry Henry has praised as the qualities of a world-class player. For this, look at his highlight video. I do not like highlight videos because they can create a distorted perception. But in this case, it gives a good visual impression of what I mean. Pay attention to how different the situations are from one another. Pressing The biggest improvement I see in him is his composure and overall security under pressure. I considered this his biggest weakness for his position. At times, especially in the beginning, he was vulnerable against strong pressing teams and looked hectic. This is an important parameter for his game. Even at the start of this season, he made some mistakes against Barca and Liverpool. But with growing confidence, he has earned more respect from opponents. His best position is at AM. But that's where Jude will be more productive as well. Other path is Arda develops into a hybrid midfielder. Opportunities and performance next season will probably decide his medium term future at RM.
