Well ... if we win our 2 games in hand we are on level with points with Madrid. Looking like Atletico's league this year unless Sociedad can keep up.Haven't seen them but 21 x 4 goals looks impressive.
First of all, get in there Alaves! Secondly, lol at the Belgian duo. Thirdly, we HAVE to win tomorrow, no more excuses. Madrid’s incompetence is the only thing keeping us within touching distance though I feel Atletico might just run away with it this season.
Damn, Marcelo got pulled down by the hair at the edge of the box and VAR didn't call it. Perhaps VAR saw that it was just outside the box but it definitely carried through inside of it. You could say Madrid got robbed there.
I mean, they have had their fare share of luck as well with calls going their way. It has to balance each other out at some point. At this point it has to have become clear that VAR definitely isn’t perfect and bad calls will probably always be a part of the game. You win some you lose some.
And those 2 games in hand are v Osasuna and Elche. Not that any match is easy anymore, heck Elche are above Barca in the table, but still... should win those and be level with LPB.
Speaking of luck, how about that Atleti goal against Valencia. That kinda stuff has to even out as well and Atleti will drop a lot of points this season. Not sure this is good news or bad but no way they get 90 points or anything like that.
Well, a couple of points: Those 8 games span 2 different injuries that Mbappe suffered. As such, he was subbed-out early in 1 of them due to injury and subbed-in 1 or 2 others after returning from injury. And even in the games that he played a full 90 he didn't seem fully fit in a number of them (most notably the semifinal and final last season). Meanwhile he is top scorer in Ligue 1 right now. So I would also argue that this CL goalless stat is merely a fluke and there is no big story behind it. Just a matter of time before he is among the top scorers in CL as well.
Well that certainly explains a lot. Let’s see if he can pick it back up. Haaland is outshining him atm, albeit largely due to the reasons you mentioned.
add to this that PSG have been going through a pretty brutal injury crisis. mbappe and neymar have hardly played together at all this season. they've basically been playing a b-team. “Before last weekend’s Ligue 1 game against Monaco, we’d had an average of seven players per game missing through injury.” - Tuchel
Shaktar have been terrible in the final third. Either Tyson is having a bad game or he just isn’t as good as I thought he was. He’s ruining every promising attack they’ve had. Marlos is the only player creating something for Shaktar atm.
Difficult to find any CL games this week that mean anything. A whole bunch of dead rubbers. Atletico Madrid and PSG seem to be the only 2 big teams in some danger of going out, but both probably with >80% chance of advancing still. Looks like a weakened Bayern side going against Atleti tonight as the match is meaningless for Bayern.
yeah, Liverpool v Ajax will be nice on the eyes. Although it all comes down to Ajax v Atalanta next week.
Lmao. How did Inter and Barcelona lose to these bums? Seriously. Inter could have sealed their fate if they at least drew with them once. M’gladbach beat Shaktar 10-0 over two legs lmao. Absolute dogshite of a team. Now M’gldbach need to only beat them or a draw and Shaktar at least draw vs Inter. Would be EPIC seeing these scum playing in Europa League. That would somewhat make up for the 8-2 against Bayern.
Ramos makes a big difference. Also Valverde as well. So if M’gldbach beat Inter they are through and Inter are out. Shakhtar would only need to match Madrid's score in the last round to go through. Inter and M’gldbach would be playing for nothing.
On Saturday Madrid were distracted concentrating on the Champions League. Today they were distracted concentrating on La Liga.
Valverde was there when they lost the first time though. I do agree on Ramos. Varane is atrocious for a supposed elite CB.
