So nothing leaked out about why the UIC coach was let go? My step daughter signed with them in November. She's still going to go because she loved the school. It just makes me a little nervous if a brand new coach who didn't recruit her comes in. If you find out anything please let me know. Thank you.

I'll let you know if I do hear anything. Congrats to your daughter. UIC is a solid school academically and better than most others in the Horizon league. Hopefully she'll do well there and things work out for her. Being what I consider a still relatively new women's program (6 or 7 years), it's a good opportunity for someone. I would think that the job will attract quality candidates.

Thank you, I appreciate it. She really likes the academic side of the school. I'm sure things will be fine, but as a parent it causes you to pause for a moment.

Thanks. Bigquestions is about to lose his credibility.
My dd is also at a Big10 school in a shared apartment planning to take online classes. As soon as 15K folks move into town, I'm afraid its going to end quickly. We're about to see some college-town behavior, usually considered normal, blown up on tv.

Did you read post 885? That's my suggestion but still think campus outbreaks will shut schools down even if soccer players do everything right.

I read your post and agree. I did not see your post until after I posted. I have 2 that are going back to school. 1 has been at school for a month (an athlete) in off-campus housing & another going to a B1G school on Mon. I expect both to go totally remote. The 1 in off-campus housing will stay there but have a feeling I'll be moving the Big 10 kid (not a collegiate athlete) out of her dorm by Oct or earlier.

Meeks got everything he wanted that the previous coach was not given: money, full staff, field to train on. So Meeks gets himself suspended for 3 weeks (5 matches): f-bomb tirade with asst. during a training session, and at a match, he called 2 players "pieces of sh*t" to their faces in front of the other players.

His roster was 26 with 1 senior. After the firing....50% left! Meeks was fired the day after his season ended at Assumption ( a winning season) his players revolted. Why is that relevant, because it took him 6 months to get this job, he was the only one that would because he had no choice!

I have too much respect for you to write this on an open forum. I prefer the privacy.
I am not an Illinois tax payer, but I certainly feel for you!. TT was fired for not being a good fit for that university (he had 4 ADs and 3 Prez in 4 yrs) and that he recruited players who also were not good fits!
