how bad of an idea is it to visit chicago in early feb?

Very bad! Would not recommend. We're shitty ppl in February about the end of our rope with winter and technically March can be tough. It's pretty glooming around Chicago.

You'll miss out on our street fest that pop off during the warmer months. Best months late april thru October. Doable months Nov and Dec but you best be winterized.

Jan thru March stay away.. bottom line.. strictly for the hardcore.

when's the best time to go?

May, June, Septemeber..

The weather is right and lots to do. Walk everywhere and everything is nearby..

July August okay and lots to do but we can get humid.

I like Nov a lot. Drink some bourbons and eat heavy feel great. Not as much street festivals but its great boozing weather.

Yeah we're large and in charge in june. You gonna dig it. Downtown is popping but get to the neighborhoods..hang with the ppls.

We are in Pilsen, La Villita, and all over South West side. Pilsen a must thou. National Musuem of Mexican Arte home based there. The neighborhood is a classic Chicago neighborhood.

There is a music fest in the summer thats entire lineup is latin american musicos.. it's not an overwhelming music fest and always a good time.. check the site 2018 dates. http://ruidofest.com
