I'm getting concerned because we havent seen a picture of R&W hair recently! hahaha! And well ... im just bored at uni so its making me leave random posts! appleCORR
Phewww i thought it had been a while!! But im relieved i've seen your hair! congratulations on winning promotion did you get any individual honours?! appleCORR
Thanks, but every1 in our team is too old to play under 17 next season, so now some other little thugs get to play in the league we got promoted to. But, I'm playing for the new under 19 team and the senior team next season, and the under 19 league is the best one, so it will be a great challenge. Sadly I didn't receive any personal awards, but i wasn't expecting one because there were only five of them and I was out for two months so...
Congratz man We lost our last game in the knockout phase no title for us seasons over for me...*sigh* time to train up and get stronger
Yeah we have one more game against a weaker squad just to have some fun but yeah I'm gonna miss playing for the time I have I really can't wait till I go to Poland this summer and train there and learn a bit of the European way
I'm so disappointed in myself after tonight's indoor game. I had 10 shots on goal.. 1 went in, 8 hit the post or crossbar. still can't believe it.
Henri Camara of Wigan will help me explain this. In terms of lacing, you kick the ball as normal initially as demonstrated in fig. 1 - the movement of the ball is demonstrated by the red arrow, and the foot movement is demonstrated by the black arrow. So you can see there's a slight upward trend to the kick. Fig 2. shows my lovely assistant Henry bringing his foot up late. You bring the foot up so it's sort of like finishing a punt. For me, I bend my knee at this point, so the ball sort of flops off the end of the foot. Leaning back slightly at this point helps accentuate the dip. If you do this correctly, the ball will spin like the blue arrow, and the eventual effect of this is the movement of the ball demonstrated by the red arrow. It's all a case of technique really, the more you practice it the better you get at it. The harder you hit the ball initially, the slower the ball will actully dip (so it will stay in the air for a longer amount of time dependent on power). The more power you put in your leg during the "up" movement (fig. 2), the more spin you put on it, and therefore the arc of the dip changes. I would say 9 times out of ten I put slightly more power into the hook movement. To be honest it does feel alien making that sort of movement initially, but the more you do it, the easier it gets. Practice, Practice, Practice...lol
Skizz, what can I say...that is just class!!! Thanks mate, it really does help - I'm going into the garden now to go practice it. Or not...its dark and 9pm and I have a Maths Tut.
anyone else really dislike that the links up top are for bigsoccer > General Discussion > Equipment & Gear.. but player forum isn't before equipment anymore? I hate that you have to go the main forum page and scroll for it.
Yeah i noticed that too. That doesnt bother me it was when they had those stupid adverts and you really had to scroll right down to get to the topics!! I'd take pictures of my boots but i can't be arsed! - lol. appleCORR
Hmm. Something hit me last night. Do you ever get the urge to "bring back" a pair of boots from the dead? When I took the photos of my surf blue vapors, and had them on my feet, I started reminiscing and stuff...I'm so wearing them this coming Sunday! Wierd I know, just wondered if everyone wears their old boots once in a while. Those Vaps haven't seen match action for at least 2 years!
Yea I just got a pair of white/red vapor 2's off ebay as was "retirning" my old ones and couldn't bare to move on....Not quite the same but u get the drift!
Yeah, I got out my gunmetal/silver Pulses out the other day and then i realised that I would much rather wear my F30.6! Today we had inter-house cross-country at school and i came 4 out of all the guys in the school...cosidering i haven't run properly for like a month!
tonight was the first round of my indoor soccer playoffs. when my full squad is there, we're by far the best team. my roommate and I have a combined 20 goals in 5 games(11 and 9 respectively). but, tonight he couldn't make it because he had an exam. and, we lost 4-3. I had 2 screamers for goals, and good celebrations too. (the first I got down on all fours and lifted my leg at the goalpost like I was a dog peeing on it. the 2nd, I just dove on the floor and pretended to swim) I'm kinda disappointed in losing though. It sucks losing to a team that you should've destroyed.
hey has anyone seen the new nike ad? its roughly about materazzi wearing a new nike pro range and chesting bowling balls, getting knocked by a car. something along the world cup zidane headbutted him. anyone seen it?
Well I was upset with the news that one of my good friends, who introduced me to football, died recently. My mum knew I would be upset because he committed suicide two days after my birthday, and I loved him like a brother. He was only 26, it's such a shame. I swore last night that I would dedicate every goal I score to him from now on, because he introduced me to this beautiful game, and I wouldn't have got where I did, or be where I am now, without him. Don't know why I said that, just had to get it out really! Not really spoke too much since I only found out yesterday...
Really truthfully sorry to hear about that mate. No matter what I say isn't going to mean much, but I send my condolences and support. Stories like this are so sad to hear and its really horrible for all people connected. On the other hand, your idea of goal dedications are good and a nice sign of respect for someone who was so important to you. Just try not to let this get you too down.
