Yes im Gunners fan, Currently Watching game against villans bleh....Terrrible call I feel your pain...
Re: That Was Bad call REF Please note that you're posting game results in the subject line, which is a no no. The penalty was the right call, Rosenior hit him with his arm in the back. That's not legal.
Re: That Was Bad call REF That was definitely a BAD CALL... I was there and even the Villa fans couldn't believe that it was called against us. Petrov was pushing into Rosenior and left the ball about 5 yards away. Hell, Liam had his hands up and didn't trip Petov so where's the foul? None-the-less, it was a hard earned point that FFC deserved. The Fulham fans that travelled were in good spirits and were definitely heard...
Re: That Was Bad call REF I wasn't there, just watching on TV, and to me it looked like Rosenior pushed him in the back before he put his hands up (which is a sure sign of guilt really), and even though Petrov didn't dive (and good for him), I think it was the right call. In any event, a point at Villa Park is an excellent result.
Re: That Was Bad call REF I would agree with you but the ref didn't call for a penalty until after the ball went out of bounds! Thats what baffled me, why didn't he call a penalty right away if it was one? There was some contact but Petrov simply lost his balance afterwards...none-the-less, I'll take another point and the Fulham fans at the match were brilliant. COYW's
Re: That Was Bad call REF Rosenior was fouled more by Petrov grabbing onto him, shouldve been a free kick to Fulham. It was honestly a very pathetic call, Rosenior bumped into him, did not impede his progress to the ball, then proceded to basically grope at Liam until the ball ran out of bounds. Made it look to the ref as though he was going to fall but that Rosenior was holding onto him. It was as bad as diving in my opinion. Disgraceful.
Re: That Was Bad call REF Maybe he was playing advantage? Nothing says you can't do that just because you're in the penalty area. I have yet to watch the highlights show, so maybe on second look I'll change my opinion, but on the initial replay I thought it was (unfortunately) the right call.
No Way you ever play advantage when the alternative is a penalty. That's just not going to happen and it shouldn't. The penalty call was bad. I think both teams had a more legitimate argument on the two handballs (one on Fulham, one on Villa) in the box than Petrov had for the phantom FIBA foul that was called on Rosenior.
Sure you can. If you round the keeper and he catches you, but you can still continue to shoot a ball into an empty net, should the ref stop play? Of course not.
That's not exactly "playing advantage". Not to the extent that it is normally considered. Petrov's drive to the line was completely not and advantage play to be considered against calling a penalty. delaying the call makes no sense. If it was a penalty, it should have been called before the ball even got close to going out.
