Always great that we get such rising talents, true he is a versatile player, i only think that at his age he will probably be in rotation in several attacking midfield positions.

may be in the future he will settle for the center attacking mid playmaking role.

i also heard Chelsea and inter were after him...

Hot damn! Great pickup. This kid is going to be a superstar...I thought he was even better than Dos Santos in that U-17 tournament.

Anderson is from Porto Alegre (just like Ronaldinho... funny... its one of the whitest brazilian cities, but most players revealed recently in the city are black... well, with exception of Sobis (Real Betis).

Also, Anderson played in Grêmio, helping Grêmio recover from the second division (Grêmio did a bad 2004 and fell to 2nd division, but recovered in an excellent manner, being champion of the 2nd division, and right now, its 2nd place in the brazilian championship 1st division).

Actually, not only Anderson made an awesome campaign with Grêmio at the 2nd division, but he also scored an awesome goal in the most dramatic game EVER in the history of football, a game that became known as the BATTLE OF THE AFLICTS. It was the last game last year, and Grêmio needed a win to become champion or at least a draw, to go to the 1st division as 2nd place.

But Náutico lost 1 penalty in the first half, and in the 2nd half Grêmio had 1 played expelled and one minute after that the referee called a VERY unfair another penalty against Grêmio. The players fought with the referee and 3 more Grêmio players were expelled.

So Grêmio was down to 7 players (including the goalkeeper). Náutico shot the penalty and Grêmio´s goalkeeper defended... soon after that Anderson suffered a foul and the Náutico player got a 2nd yellow. Grêmio quickly shot the fault in a pass to Anderson, who dribbled 2 Náutico players and scored a goal (110th minute of the match, which was almost cancelled due to the fight)!!!

btw, next year, another GREAT Grêmio player will be going to Europe... only 18 years old right now... a GREAT middlefield... really excellent player!!

    Lucas Leiva.

But he is going to Athletico Madrid (where his father, Leivinha, played in the 80s).

But keep an eye on him. He is really good. He is blonde, blue eyes and long hair (kinda remembers that Real Madrid player... but that one sucks).

Its funny because if you read the numerous football websites then every player who is 17/18/19 is described as a "superkid", no longer are there promising youngsters but superkids and prodigies, quite amusing really. :D

The best of the lot, in my opinion, is Sergio Aguero.

lol, true though, Aguero had a great game over the weekend for Atletico-madrid. I think his partnership with Torres and Maxi Rodriquez will be very dangerous if they click.

They have a great midfield too now that they have added Maniche to the likes of Costinha, Martin petrov, peter luccin and Maxi.

And yes, he was given the golden ball for best player in the U-17 World Cup. Dos Santos came in second.

In this pic he is receiving the ball on crutches after the final with Mexico. One of the Mexicans broke his ankle with a sliding tackle in the first few minutes of the game.

In highlights of Porto's first CL group match, I caught about five seconds of Anderson. Replayed it a few times. Not much you can tell from five seconds, but he gave me an impression of a lot of talent. In the fundamental elements of his movement, balance, technique, etc.. Plus his movement was intelligent so hopefully he is being coached well.
^^ :) only five seconds, I know, but still!

So is Anderson now half owned by Barca? I'm confused because it's not reported in England at all?

none if this half ownership is final, dont worry about it right now because i dont think this will be resolved for a while since chelsea are also involved in trying to get anderson

If Porto is smart they will not sell him very quickly. His price will go up every year. There are many clubs that are interesting in him right now. But he is also just 18 years old. He still have much to learn, especially tactically. But defenetly we should follow his progress. I will try to watch Porto in CL next week and I might post a comment on his performance.
