Troyes come into this match winless, with 2 draws from 4 matches. They currently sit in 15th posistion.

Lyon return after the international break in a tie for first posistion. Carew, Kallstrom, Tiago, Muller plus Govou, Malouda, Abidal, Coupet and Wiltord all made international appearenced over the 2 game international schedule.

Yeah...but it's not like they had a choice on who they were gonna play. They won the game...thats all they could do.

I went to this game here in Lyon. It was only a "good game" after the second goal. Great atmosphere in the stadium here in Lyon.

    cheers.

the atmosphere in the VN was good, but only very good for a few minutes in the first half, as there are numerous cris fanatics there (including yours truly).

as a tuneup for RM it's not particularly important; the practice sessions today and tomorrow will be the real preparation. what was important was to get the 3 points to stay in contention for n°6! one match at a time is the key.

looking at the match as a key to players' form, squillaci seemed OK with cris, a good thing. clerc didn't make himself noticeable (perhaps a good thing for a defender) but berthod on the other side seemed passive and slow, no biggie as he won't play wednesday.

toulalan showed some attempts at a long game that may be promising, but seemed to run around a bit much, hopefully he'll stay centered against real. juninho was VG; besides the FK he had two good shots in open play, the second provoked by great play from källström. tiago was hopeless, but since he was great against nice, let's hope he was just concentrating on the wrong match.

govou was nowhere near as good as he was in blue, wiltord was workmanline but no more, hard to see who'll get the nod there. carew started well, with two well earned chances; one was denied by le crom (who also stood up to tiago and nino) fine match from the troyes keeper, and coupet did just as well on the other end.
