To me RM and Che have all reinforced and look stronger than last season so this will be very tight for all the top three. Alot will also depend on the strength of the teams` depth charts when the going gets tougher in midseason and injuries plus suspensions kick in.
You're absolutely right, this Real Madrid team is better than last year's team. Last year you lost to Lyon 3-0, this year you only lost 2-0. And as time passes, the team will just get better, next year you just might lose to them 1-0
Ok not trolling .. so dont just jump and neg rep me or something .. But wat happened to ur game against Espanyol or sme other theam ?! U lost 3-0 if i remember correctly. So ok, we might never go past the second stage in the CL but we can definitely kick a$$ in the Liga ..
I think you mean Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup. The game was not take too seriously by Barca and Sevilla had been making pre season arrangements around it. GO figure who would have been more equiped to win this match....not an excuse though but it is hard to win a match you arent bothered with when your opponents makes their season out of it.
we shouldn't have lost it by that margin though ... anyways ... retaining the Liga is as good as done I guess and I hope we set a record in the CL by winning it twice in a row.
It won't be a record. several teams have done it (milan, liverpool, Real, Ajax, etc...); just not in a while. I think we have to win b/c two titles is just too meager for a club like Barca
i believe you are wrong ronaldinho. many teams have won back-to-back european cups, but not the champions league.
yes that is what I meant. No one has done it in the UCL ... I believe the last team was Milan in 89-90.
OK. I guess we're talking about the CL format. In that case, no one has ever done it, including Milan. The CL started in 93, Milan did it in 89 & 90. Also, this would mean that RM has only won 3 (not 9) and Milan just 2. It will be nice for us to be the first one to do it, especially since this format is arguably more difficult and has higher level of competition.
very true, we should guard against complacency, i recall last season we went into a hot streak and then started to struggle before regaining our touch. I know RM, sevilla, depor and Valencia are strong contenders we just need to keep working hard. Now i`m more worried about Valencia and Sevilla plus RM. Atletico madrid is another team to watch out for now that they have added Maniche to an already strong midfield pairing.
May I Have Your Attention: Villarreal is keeping everything in order at the bottom of the table. That is all. Thank you for your cooperation.
